Arkham City buyers encounter numerous DLC code issues [update: Warner responds, working on fix]

Oct 18th 2011 7:31PM (Joystiq)
@Faenix

Possibly, I never picked up the GOTY version of Borderlands.

I'd have no problem having to download some DLC with a GOTY copy; I do have internet access after all. I just have a problem with having to go to several different places, or buy movies and energy drinks, just to get everything on the disc.

Yet another reason I'm glad I'm waiting for the GOTY edition that will have all this preorder bullshit unlocked on the disc from the start.

Syndicate trailer recalls the past

How hilarious that they spend a minute talking about how awesome and unique Syndicate was, and then say "Now here's yet another generic FPS."

Wait, what?

Valve games show up on Origin [update]

Sep 3rd 2011 11:54AM (Joystiq)
The Valve games on the sale are for the retail copies; EA distributes the retail copies on all platforms, PC included.

Somehow I think they're allowed to sell games that they distribute without it being a sign of anything.

Professor Layton and the Last Specter includes bonus RPG, dated this October (along with Tetris: Axis for 3DS)

@Vordus

Not to mention your reading comprehension. Last Specter is a DS game; the 3DS game mentioned is Tetris. Still no need to buy a 3DS.

Unless you were talking about desperately wanting Tetris, in which case I withdraw my statement.

@343 Guilty Fart

That's why I don't install any app that says it "needs" that information.

No, sorry, you don't need that information for anything other than knowing who I am, and I don't want any part of that.

GameStop intentionally removing Deus Ex OnLive coupons from retail PC copies (update: GameStop statement and legal outlook)

Aug 24th 2011 1:01PM (Joystiq)
"Joystiq is currently investigating the issue, including the possible legal implications of tampering with a product and selling it as new."

You are aware that GameStop has been doing this the entire time they've been a company, correct? All those empty cases on the walls aren't display cases - they're games that they've opened, and will sell as new.

Now we only need to get developers to remember that Android phones exist.

Game retailers go back and forth on Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D sales policies

@hami83

Some people like to play games fresh from the start, not be forced into having the unlocks and scores of the previous owner forced on them.

It'd be like playing WoW and having to buy an account with all 85s on it already, and you can't delete any of them, or change their gear or talents or anything. You're stuck with whatever the previous person did.
