Apple TV update streams TV purchase history, adds Vimeo support (Updated)
Aug 1st 2011 12:58PM (TUAW.com)It would be very handy for me but the new Apple TV misses out a few key features for non-US residents.
Are you using Apple's Ping?
Sep 28th 2010 9:23AM (TUAW.com)If you follow any bands your presence on the service automatically becomes visible, thus rendering any privacy options you might have checked redundant.
Ever since Facebook came along we've all been conned in to thinking that our own names are the least private piece of information about us when, in fact, all we're doing is giving people we want to keep information private from an easy way of finding that information. As with Ping, no matter what privacy options you choose, they're all pointless as soon as you use it for its intended purpose.
If you are friends with person A and want to keep your account private from person B, who is also friends with person A, you cannot do so. This is true of both Facebook and Ping.
So no, I don't use Ping and I never will.

Nov 24th 2009 11:29AM (ComicsAlliance)While I can't disagree that the dialogue was somewhat ham-fisted, I understand its purpose.
At some point, comic book writers and artists were going to finally take offence at the near endless criticism of their work. I believe that, despite there being better ways of saying it, some of what the page says needed to be said.
Nobody should have any issue with Power Girl's costume - unless they believe that women should be ashamed of their bodies.

Nov 24th 2009 3:02AM (ComicsAlliance)There's no difference here from the portrayal of men in primarily female interest media. Twilight anyone ? High School Musical ? Any romantic comedy made in the past thirty years ? That's exactly how men look and behave, isn't it ?
Boys and indeed men only have comics and video games left as industries that actually want their money. It won't be long before they have nothing left to entertain them if this seemingly endless moaning about this subject continues.
Boys like superheroes. Boys like hot women. Boys especially like hot women who are superheroes. Get over it.

Sep 20th 2009 5:43AM (ComicsAlliance)We do have to go over this again because the people who complain about it are the true sexists. I'm not allowed to be the Ms. Marvel fan that I am because I love the character. It has to be her costume or the way she's drawn, because I'm male and I can't think past that. Same with Spider-Woman.

Sep 19th 2009 10:14AM (ComicsAlliance)Let me point something out to you all - Men don't look like that either. Most men aren't 6 foot plus with arms the size of a side of beef.
The only people here being sexist at all are the people who complained about the cover.
