Mike: guessing there are some larger economic/political questions at the heart of their IP/piracy/copyright problems.

24 hour shipping for MacBook Pros in UK

Because I feel argumentative:

A laptop that cannot be left on your laptop over 5 minutes
--If true, have it repaired. That is not by design

A laptop with a graphic card that has been specifically downclocked nearly 40%
--This could be true, and if so, it might behoove gamers to do something about it. I imagine for most Mac OS users, it is sufficient.

A laptop that you can not use at night when it is quite (sic)
--You may not want to, but you certainly can. I've heard the whines. Annoying as all get out? Yes. Unusable? I certainly don't think so.

A laptop that will not boot and need a factory repair if you left a disc inside
--This one is new to me. I have a disc sitting in mine right now, rebooted and all.

A laptop that does not have firewire 800 and made by Apple
--yes, it is made by Apple. They also made ADB which this laptop does not ship with. There will probably be ExpressCards to satisfy this. If it is needed, then hold off.

A laptop that cost you £21000+ and still can't get rid of the above flaws
--Wow, that's about $38K! That is a lot more than in North America! The flaws aren't related to how much you spent on it, they are related to the technology inside.

A laptop that i've bought.
--The dramatic conclusion.

There are legitimate concerns with the product, sure, but this strikes me as sour grapes more than anything else.
