Personally, I believe that they will be on par graphically because they are using the same hardware. It will probably be relative to Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Sure, MW2 ran smoother but BC2 was more realistic and had giant maps with vehicles.
So, it all depends on which type of game you like. People who enjoy the CoD series will probably love MW3 and people who enjoy vehicle play will love Battlefield 3.
Also, I completely agree with you for the PC version. It is going to be sweet.
