DS Daily: But would you want it?

Nov 21st 2008 12:06PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The short of it: No

The long of it: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

DS Daily: Crafting a songlist

Nov 2nd 2008 7:01PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
People, people, people...I think we need to remind ourselves of ONE SONG that will make this playlist better than ANY OTHER PLAYLIST in the history of music games.

Which one?

Tell me that would not be perfect for EBA.

DS Daily: Five games

Oct 31st 2008 10:18AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
1). 2). 3). A DS Compilation of the Mother Series (it can happen)
4). 5). The other 2 Professor Layton games.

Wow, that was quick. ^_^

DS Daily: Seriously? This castle? Again?

Oct 29th 2008 12:04PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Not sure I can pick one out that's "worse" or "better" than the other games.

It's the Indiana Jones argument Roger Ebert brought up:

"If you eat four pounds of sausage, how do you choose which pound tasted the best? Well, the first one, of course, and then there's a steady drop-off of interest. That's why no Indy adventure can match 'Raiders of the Lost Ark.' But if 'Crystal Skull' (or 'Temple of Doom' from 1984 or 'Last Crusade' from, 1989) had come first in the series, who knows how much fresher it might have seemed? True, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' stands alone as an action masterpiece, but after that the series is compelled to be, in the words of Indiana himself, 'same old same old.' Yes, but that's what I want it to be." (Ebert, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" Review, 2008)

Just replace "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" and there you go. ^_^

DS Daily: Best bang for your buck

Oct 22nd 2008 9:49AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Probably say Meteos, Brain Age, Jump Ultimate Stars, and Mario Cart.

Those were some of the first DS games I purchased and I can still whip 'em out nowadays and play either against other people, or just by myself.

TGS08: Chrono Trigger, as good as it ever was

Oct 15th 2008 12:37PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
You know, as much as I loved Chrono Trigger, between the Virtual Console releases of Super Mario RPG and Secret of Mana I was able to purchase more than enough ES-EN-EE-ES-ARR-PEE-GEE Glory to last me quite a while. All for a fraction of CTDS' price.

Thanks, but sadly, no thanks Square Enix.

DQIX dated for March release in Japan

Yeah, I like the series as much as anyone, but someone's gotta be the cynic.

First rule of journalism: believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.

DS Daily: I think I'm learning Japanese, I really think so

Sep 23rd 2008 9:12AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm actually anticipating this release. I've been wanting to learn Japanese for quite a while -- I had the chance to back in college, but I hate language classes and textbooks since French in high school.

Besides, my DS needs another "Brain Age type learning device" to offset the influx of DS SNES RPGs. ^_^

DS Daily: Ignoring a license

Sep 22nd 2008 11:39AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I hope this game is good. The original Dragonball was an awesome show/manga and to see a good game of it on the DS would be a wish only granted by a huge-ass dragon. ^_^

That being said, Jump Ultimate Stars is a good game and it's based on several licensed properties.

Fanswag: Final Fantasy IV

Sep 17th 2008 4:44PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I played it back in '92. Between episodes of Batman and X-Men...and rounds of Turtles in Time. ^_^
