@Rob ?What I ultimately want is a game appliance, one that doesn't need network and I don't need to worry about, and games are put it in and it'll work, and there's no danger to any of my data."
"since the SNES Nintendo have consistently been a let down (except for Ocarina of Time) accumalting in sham that was the GameCube and the WII novelty."
Yeah, pioneering console use of Rumble, Analog Sticks, Motion Controls, 3d Platformers, first person shooters, etc.
Really big letdowns, I totally hate them for blazing the trail that brought all consoles to where we are today.
The Wii was pretty much the only gaming system i used since November, with the exception of: >>A few X-box Live Halo 2 sessions, >>Playing through Gears of War co-op at my friend's place, >>And playing Katamari & Shadow of the Collosous with my girlfriend.
So, that would be a good ... 70 - 80% of my gaming since november spent with the Wii. And i still havent gotten bored.
Until the release of Supreme Commander that is ... My gaming PC isnt feeling lonely anymore ;-)
(i havent played another game since Supreme Commander came out)
i got to the part where the idiot said that the Wiimote had "gyroscopes" in it, and realized i had to get out fast before i suffered any braincell damage ...
I have to say I really enjoyed Red Steel, I think a great part of that was the music ...
I'm a bit of an audiophile, and the score of Red Steel is phenomenal and fits the game perfectly,
The controls weren't perfect, but worked fine if you took a more deliberate approach to the game, rather than a run and gun mentality ... all in all i really liked it ...
also ... the fun house level ... best FPS level i've played in a LONG LONG time ...
@ the guy wanting Earthworm Jim - YES!!, i was just telling my girlfriend how i would kill to have the Earthworm Jim games show up on virtual console, after i lost most of my SNES carts,
I dont even care if its the Genesis or SNES versions, i just want some Earthworm Jim Damnit!
also - @ the guy who mentioned megaman - I've been wondering that too ... i was hoping to download one of the Megaman Xs that i didnt get to play ...
