Microsoft scouting exclusive video content for Zune

Aug 13th 2008 9:53AM (Engadget)
Does anyone actually buy a product because of exclusive content? I mean, I guess is sometimes works for Consoles...but an mp3 player?

The way I see it, a person who picks their mp3 player because of what content they can get on it, IS NOT the kind of person who would support your product, and tell their friends about it. It seems like it would be the kind of person who would call it an iPod, no matter what the brand.

Seems to me like they're going after the wrong market. They need to be the answer to all of iPod's shortcomings, cause that's the only way they're going to gain any ground.

Dell's XPS One (PRODUCT) RED is a charitable rip off

Jan 25th 2008 12:58PM (Engadget)
Attaching charity to consumerism is dumb anyways. If you want to benefit a charity, find one you like, and give them money. Don't rely on corporate big wigs to tell you what to give money to.

NBC Universal shacks up with SanDisk, video content now on Fanfare

Dec 11th 2007 2:55PM (Engadget)
No, what's stupid is for content companies to continue to let Apple become one of the largest online content providers in existence. It already sells most of online music...why would they want to contribute to it gaining that same stranglehold on TV?

People need to drop their company loyalties and realize that diversifying this kind of stuff is better for the consumer. Ultimately this will play out and the consumer will benefit.

You may not deal with them much anymore...but everything you watch on disc sure does.
