Joyswag: Halo: Reach 'Legendary Edition' giveaway

My Xbox, PSP, and a few novels on my bookshelf that I have been threatening to read.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled

Respectfully, when there are recommendations for other titles and commentary on the games value it is a review. The commentary is misleading in the aspect that it talks about the game as though the opinions formed were based off of the game’s entirety, not just the demo.

It is starting to seem like Joystiq is reviewing games based on the demos. If that’s the case, that is extremely weak. How can you expect a review to be considered legitimate if the reviewer isn’t experiencing the full title? Just think of how poorly Bioshock would have been reviewed if all the reviewer did was play the “be a Big Daddy” level.

I think Highway looks like it would be fun.

Blomkamp: 'I probably wouldn't do Halo if it was offered to me'

Jul 25th 2009 12:09PM (Joystiq)
BS. If Blomkamp had the chance to do Halo he would break his neck getting to the set because he knows the goldmine that it is

Player sues Sony after being banned from PlayStation Network

Jul 21st 2009 5:04PM (Joystiq)
You are wrong about this. For starters, Sony is a Japanese company however they have to follow the laws and regulations of the country/state/etc. that they are offering their service and product in. If Sony’s PS3 was defective and caused a house fire, you can bet that they are liable in any counrty that the product was sold. And Sony can put anything in a User’s Agreement they like, however the fine print will always have a disclaimer saying that certain limitations and rules only apply where it is lawful. (This is done to try to calm customer complaints at the customer service level. Remember XBL has a part in their EULA that says they aren’t responsible for making XBL operational, but when they didn’t have the servers to support the system a few years back many angry subscribers pointed out how that part of the EULA violated their consumer rights and MS had to issue some refunds for services that were purchased but not delivered.) So, no Sony can not take away an American’s freedom of speech just because they are a company corporately based in Japan. However companies are within their rights to expect certain social standards and to regulate social interactions in public areas, which it would appear that Sony did. Like I said before, the right to freedom of speech does not give one the right to use speech to violate other people’s rights.

Player sues Sony after being banned from PlayStation Network

The first reason that this suit will go no place is that PSN has a EULA which he violated to get banned. Freedom of speech does not give anyone the right to violate the rights of others or break contracts (EULA). Secondly, IF he has agoraphobia, he would not be socializing on something like PSN. What a loser.

Harmonix: Music games may not rely on consoles in the future

I don’t know if sidebuster is referring to it, but the Godfather of video games, Pong, was originally released as a tennis (ping-pong) plug-and-play after it became popular in bars and restaurants. So Alex, there is one of those “that’s how well it did” plug-and-plays that started an industry.

Parents don't read Joystiq

Jul 8th 2009 7:24AM (Joystiq)
Really, your kidding (sarcasm). Most parents don’t bother looking a the ESRB rating of the games that they are buying for their kids. If they don’t have the time to flip the box over and look at the game contents, what makes you think they are going to put the energy into reading a review site?
