Rick Roll? Really? Seriously? Let's face it, Rick Roll is the pg version of goatse.cx. Remember the good ol' days on the Interweb when men were men, women were scarce, and Rick Roll was a gaping anal fissure?
Alright, that decides it. I'm trading in my frigging PSP. I haven't played it in about two months anyways, but the idiocy of Sony to approve such a marketing campaign is beyond the pale.
Alright, I'll confess that I and one of my friends, clivediggs, were guilty of perpetrating the GOW meme, and ended up in the top three viewed for the remixes. It was funny for about a week, and then we promptly forgot about them.
But sweet merciful crap, what's with the negative attitudes? Do I think I created a work of art? Am I going to forward my remixes to a professional editing company as portfolio pieces? Hell no! It was one night of my friend and I goofing around, using xbox live chat and throwing stuff up on YouTube to crack each other up. You know, having fun, and maybe giving other people a laugh at the same time. Isn't that what YouTube is for? Plus, if I do say so myself, [and I will], I thought my Mighty Mouse theme was pretty funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt-PzZyb7MM.
If people want to try it with the Halo trailer, why not? This one is pretty good, but, like some of the other comments have said, it might work better if you muted the original soundtrack after the kids are done.
Take a look at NHL games. The team concept there is nothing new. Back in college, my friends and I would blast through NHL '97 with a full human lineup, excusing the goalie, courtesy of the PS2 multitap. Hockey and/or Basketball [not my personal favorite] are probably the best sports for this kind of play, due to the relative size and speed of the game.
I think part of the problem with understanding when something is really "off" is the fact that there is no external indication that, to use as an example, my 360 is "off". I'm looking at it right now. There are no blinking lights, no standby lights, nothing.
In comparison to one of the simplest everyday objects we use, a regular light, it looks off. When you turn a light on, it goes on. [unless your bulb just blew, which is another story]. When you turn a light off, it goes off. I think it's reasonable to expect our electronics to act in a similiar fashion, or at least indicate if they're "sorta kinda off".
I went to Sears.com and placed a pickup order for the DS Lite. I ordered one for pickup from the Watchung, NJ store location. [I believe the Livingston, NJ location also had Lite's available for pickup.] I received my confirmation email within 10 minutes. I'm running out now to grab my DS Lite. I'll post again once I either have it or have issues. Go to sears.com NOW!!
