Jun 1st 2011 2:34AM (Joystiq)
thats funny, it's kind of what I imagine the duke nukem to be like, good animation and hd graphics, but 1998 style gameplay.

THQ planning North Korean protest to promote Homefront

Mar 1st 2011 3:22AM (Joystiq)
the balloons are probably in reference to what South korea does, which is sends helium balloons over the border with tied on support messages, lately they have been sending news about the uprises in egypt/middle east.

Company to begin testing restaurant iPad POS system

Jun 29th 2010 3:05AM (TUAW.com)
As far as pos apps go Quick sale pos is much better looking than this. I don't think it would have features of a restaurant specific pos app like this, but this doesn't look Iike it uses the ipads screen real estate and simple ui effectively at all.

NVIDIA's first two Fermi cards to be known as GeForce GTX 470 and GTX 480

Feb 2nd 2010 5:03AM (Engadget)
my guess is the 3x0 series becomes rebranded dx10 parts from the last 2 gens, the 4x0 series probably signifies the dx11 difference.

Bad Company 2 multiplayer trailer portrays ideal gaming experience

Jan 8th 2010 2:44AM (Joystiq)
I'm not going to say they are very frequent but I've had plenty of moments of awesomeness like in this video in Battlefield games, where you are on a good team and sometimes the moments seem scripted they happen in such ways that benefit you a lot and usually are pretty awesome to watch and involve many members of both teams.

Activision pursuing 'online monetization models' for Call of Duty franchise

Nov 15th 2009 1:39PM (Joystiq)
This is what I think will happen:
They bring back dedicated servers next game but you have to pay this monthly fee, they're excuse will be "to operate the dedicated servers a monthly fee for playing is necessary". And we will yell back at them saying games have all done dedicated servers for years without monthly charge, they will fire back saying some garbage about maintaining the quality of the game, etc. The gaming community will vent even more and louder than with MW2, and all that will happen is Infinity ward will put some larger earplugs in and watch the money continue to pour in.

EVGA GeForce GTX 275 co-opts a GTS 250 for PhysX duties

Nov 3rd 2009 1:13PM (Engadget)
I just got the parts for a new system, when picking a gpu I thought about physx and nvidia, but then someone linked me to nvidia's site where they have the list of games that actually support it, it was pretty paltry. Most titles that support it aren't one's I've really heard of and none of them had me clamoring to play them(sorry if I mostly like the AAA titles). I went with a 4870 1gb which was a really good price.

Just Cause 2 trailer has fun with the grappling hook

Oct 31st 2009 1:30PM (Joystiq)
well I have the first game, don't play it anymore but got it second hand for like $15 and it was definitely fun, though of course it had its quirks. Looking forward to JC2 to see all that has been improved, and damn that new grappling hook looks fun.
