DC Universe Online beta ends today with a big ol' fight

Jan 5th 2011 2:01PM (Joystiq)
I just finally got around to downloading the beta on my PS3 last night, and now it's ending! Just my luck, hah.

Gran Turismo 5 loading times slashed with SSD install

@Chazzr
Funny you should say that, since modern consoles (disc-based) are when load times began. Before that, good-ol' cartridge based systems truly were instant.

See how Goldeneye 007 stacks up to its N64 predecessor

Anyone else wondering why they chose to stretch the N64 footage, but then inexplicably squish the Wii footage?

PlayStation Plus update for November 16: Abe's Exoddus, Shatter

Nov 3rd 2010 3:03PM (Joystiq)
@Mezstizo

The first two games came out on both PS1 and PC on release day. The PC versions don't run at a higher resolution than the PS1 versions, so they're basically identical.

Capcom bringing social Smurf game to iDevices

I was going to say "shouldn't they be harvesting Smurfberries?" then I read those were paid DLC. "What the smurf" is right!

Xbox Live Indie Game 'Leucistic Wyvern' looks familiar

@Robborboy

If you're not interested in on-rails shooting games then you're not going to enjoy it. There is certainly a nostalgia factor here (it's not just an on-rails shooter, it was ''the'' on-rails shooter of its time) so if you have no connection to the original and you don't find on-rails shooting fun then I can understand why you may be a little underwhelmed by gameplay footage.

@Epoque

Just FYI, the unlockable original won't work on the 360. But, Orta is still fantastic on its own!

Doom, Double D Dodgeball pulled from XBLA [update]

Oct 26th 2010 2:38AM (Joystiq)
@CaramelZappa

This is a good point, hopefully they are smart enough to just update the publishing info and the new game file (with presumably just a logo change in the opening) in the current SKU and not list this as a new SKU in the system, which would screw previous purchasers like you and I.

Swag Saturday: Power Gig: Rise of the Six String guitar and game

You can't go wrong with Jimi when it comes to guitar playing, so let's go with "Voodoo Child"

Video: watch how you'll watch TV on Xbox 360 U-verse

Oct 12th 2010 7:05PM (Joystiq)
@Mortegro

You're kinda looking at this backwards. All this does is allow you to use your Xbox as a secondary Uverse receiver. Uverse service has to be available in your area and you still have to subscribe to Uverse, plus have at least one normal Uverse set-top box in your house.
