Casual - Madden, Fifa (Multi platform), games whih have an appeal or look "Cool" For example casuals will pick up uncharted if they have a PS3 because its box art "cool"
Hardcore - wide range of shooters and serious games(Multi platform)

I know everyone will start picking holes in this and i would probably be able to contradict them but im not in the mood. just giving a Tini little bit of evidense to complete name123's comment.

As for the Hardware sales, good for Sony. I think things arnt go to be as "roller coastery" now as things are starting to even out. I predict By the end of 2007

PS3:7.9 million

Xbox 360:14.5 million

Wii:16.3 million

These are just "Geuses" put together by my subconses which has placed all the ingreediants of things happening and things which have happend concerning the console wars into a blender in my subconses brain and the result is the numbers I gave. Id laugh if im right.

Well actually BOTH consoles had pretty good games in the 1st year:
Xbox360:
-Oblivion
-COD2
-PGR3
-ETC

PS3:
-Resistance
-Moterstorm
-Warhawk
-Oblivion

The point is as time progresses games get better. Look at PS2. When it launched games looked a lot like PSone games but look at God of war 2! Amazing. In 5 years they kepth on raising the bar for the console and the same will happen for Both PS3 and 360.

Oky that was a bit random but Im glad PS3 is finaly getting its act together.

VERY CASUAL - People who buy wii
Casual - People who buy madden and stuff like that
Hardocre - People who buy next gen systems

Its the middle group that want the PS3, the hardcore know the 360 is a better "Gaming" platform. And the VERY casual know nothing about games and they buy Wii's. The reason PS3's not selling is because of its price. Remeber E3 2005. Most people thought the war was allready over UNTIL they reveiled the price. ITS THE PRICE THAT PUTS PEOPLE OFF. And the reasn i used the word "Cool" in my comments was because of the survey which was conducted which is Here:

Im not trying to say that the PS3 is the Casual platform onm the market. Im saying that people who want the PS3 are casual gamers

For goodness sake how many idiotic fanboys must there be in joystiq! I swear 95% of the people who post on this site are 360 or wii fanboys, doesnt that say anything to you. PS3 owners are "Cooler" then 360 owners as PS3 owners dont spend all day saying there console is better than yours on websites! You people need to stop arguing and do what you love! Play the Stinking games and enjoy them rather then think "Once im finnished this game i can rub it in --- owners faces so i can look smart"

A poll taken in the Uk revealed the top "Cool things" Playstation and Nintendo were in the top 10, Xbox wasnt on the list. PS3 is survivng on brand name. A lot of people i know say they want a PS3 and not an Xbox. Why? Because people are dumb. Xbox 360 is at the moment the best "Gaming" console. But the cool people arnt gonna know that! Only the unpopular and people who do rechearch know that. And the attch rate backs me up to. THere are 3 types of gamers:
VERY casual (people who have never gamed before)
Casual (Majority of last gen playters)
Hardcore (minority of last gen players)
A "casual" gamer doesnt buy much games but enjoys the traditional control scheme. The "very casual" gamer buys wii. The "hardcore" gamer buys next gen. The casual gamer and VERY casual gamer dont buy to many games thus the 3.5 attch rate for wii However it is the same for PS3. This means that casual gamers are the main people buying PS3's!
Casual gamers dont post online. Not many PS3 fanboys post
The attch rate for PS3 is of a casual gamer rate
The PS3 is "Cool" for casual gamers
All this points to the PS3 being a casual gamer machine. And we all know how the last casual gamer system did, 110 million UP. Once PS3 comes dow in price to a leval that is accepatable to the casual gamer then PS3 is the winner. It doesnt matter about what the better system is. Casual gamers dont ussaly rechearch what there getting so they buy on Brand name alone. If you go to a school you find that the nerds have a 360 and the cool kids WANT a PS3.
