There was a "Battle Mode" in SMB3 on the SNES All-Stars that was very much like the original Mario Bros. I hope it's on this Wii version too... we had many hours playing it back in the day.

Neither. I am new to console gaming and don't own anything other than Wiimotes and Nunchuks. I can't justify spending money on a classic controller, as they are really only needed for VC games.

I reckon many other gamers feel the same. Nintendo are missing a trick by not porting the controls from SNES and N64 VC releases to Wii controllers, and are losing sales because of it.

I have asked for a few games that I missed at release:

Sorry to piss on your chips, bu this report wasn't on Newsnight on Friday (in the UK at least). In fact the logo in that report looks different to the current Newsnight branding. And the reporter, Stphanie Flanders, has moved on from Newsnight and is now the BBC's economics editor. I think this report is ollllllllllllddddd. Move on.
