@Pure Black World Tendency They usually do, but you're talking about a quarter to half of all sales, usually not most of them.
To put this into perspective, Halo 3 sold 5 million copies between its launch on September 23, 2007 through November 30th, so it looks to me like they're selling similarly. Halo 3 went on to sell, like you said, 11.3 million copies, and I would say Reach is probably on track to do well.
The excitement around this game has perceptibly fizzled though, whereas Halo 3 didn't go away for a long time. Either way, if Reach has half the success of Halo 3 (which it is) it's a huge game.
@Misfit Toy Yeah, it seems to take a little bit of the fun out of the ranking system. Performance during a match seems to have relatively little to do with how many cRs you get at the end.
At each rank (I'm Warrant Grade 3 so I get about 500-700 per Team Slayer match) you basically are guaranteed a certain amount of credits, so being a high rank isn't necessarily something I have tremendous respect for, I just imagine that to be at those ridiculously high ranks already some people have to have sunk a thousand hours into this friggin' game.
@Prox Halo Reach still manages nearly a million uniques every day. Not exactly the same thing as nobody.
Besides, given that there's tens of thousands of people playing at any given time it's not like you'll have any trouble finding a match. There has to be only a couple hundred people, if that, playing TF2 online (360) and it's still easy to find matches without running into the same people over and over.
I'm excited for this game mode but I hope there's less of a focus on things like this and Raid in DiRT 3 and a bigger focus on more traditional point-to-point rally races.
