Five minutes of inFAMOUS

Aug 9th 2008 3:31AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Frustrating like uncharted? I would argue that Uncharted has some of the best "shooting mechanics" of any game I've ever played. But I offer you a chance to prove your point by suggesting games with better aiming mechanics. Right now, I can't think of any. The only reason I'd say you had a problem is potentially you suck at shooting games and need an auto-aim to survive.

Trophies: Warhawk

These trophies seem kind of...I guess difficult. Looks like it's for the hardcore and not the casual Warhawker, like me.

Most EA soundtracks are just crap songs they buy the rights to. If I want to listen to unoriginal licensed music, I'd rather listen to my own MP3 or CD collection. So I'm going to support Dwag on this one. But some games like MGS, Resident Evil, and Final Fantasy do have well-produced music...so if they want to try, I'm ready to listen.

It is Japanese. Also, given the success of the FF series, they tend to be a little more experimental with visuals, gameplay...and even music sometimes. I kind of respect that about FF, they don't pull a Capcom and keep rehashing the same game with flashier graphics, they make critical changes that sometime make or break the experience for gamers. But that's what gives each FF its Identity.

1942 out tomorrow in the US; 'a couple of weeks' in Europe

10 bucks seems a little high to me. With Playstation Classics for 5.99, I don't see the point in paying more for a "lesser" title. Sure they jazzed it up a little...but it's still just 1942...

Of course it's only 10 bucks. I'm just broke.

David Reeves likens PS3 to airplanes, explains 80GB SKU acceptance

Are you really mad that after almost a year, Sony is coming out with PS3 that has the same functionality as yours but just has 40 gigs of more memory?

They've maintained 3rd party support, just haven't been getting third party exclusives. That's the difference. Remember when 360 got games months before PS3. Now it's moved to day-and-date. You're still getting your third party games, just you get nice first party games also.

PS3 version of BioShock 'looks no different'

It's an old game.

My cousin has this on his 360. He was about half-way through the game so I started a new game and we'd take turns playing. So I saw the first-half through my file and the second half through his.

What I experienced was a casual first person shooter that had a whole lot more to look at than actually do. The shooting is so...Doom, that I eventually got tired of trying and just started running past enemies.

I'm saying this isn't Oblivion or Metal Gear Solid 4, amazingly in-depth games with much replay value. So if you've beaten this game already, there isn't much incentive to buy it. I just don't think it has the depth to keep me coming back for more.

But if you love it, then you love it. I love Uncharted and it's pretty straight forward, yet I find myself replaying it from time-to-time.

A flop? If we compare independent gaming to independent film, then the point is not to be a commercial success, but to bring something of value without worrying about sales. To experiment. To say, I'm not just going to do tits and guns, I'm going to dig deep and see what I pull out. If one person thinks it's a masterpiece then I have succeeded.

I see your flop and raise you one shut the hell up...

Oh, and LBP not living up to the hype? If the hype is that it's a fun, smile-inducing platformer that capitalizes on co-operative gaming and aims to allow truly in-depth user created material...then it looks like it delivers with every new video.

I can only imagine that the reason you have this negative Mexi-can't attitude is because your parents don't love you and your friends think you're of lesser intelligence. So I feel sorry for YOU guy.

Sorry...that seems a bit mean. I just woke up and may be a bit cranky.

I don't know how much I'd want a PS3 smash brothers. From what little experience with the games I have, they're just cluttered fighting games without much depth, which makes them easy pick up and plays. And I think it's more that Link, Mario, Donkey Kong, and now even Solid Snake are throwing magic wands and pokemon at each other that sells the novelty.

I was interested in this because I had read the original was quite innovative. But if this is just a "fun" take on a great game, then you can count me out. Way to pull a Nintendo Sony!
