Well, just got a 1Tb one of those from a buddy who went to South Korea last week...
It actually uses a Hitachi HDT21010SLA360 drive. Still couldn't find much info on it since it seems to be a asian product but so far from my first 10-15min with it, it's quite good. Very silent, low heat and the transfer rate seems to be reasonable at least: got 30mb/s without any problems so far.
Unfortunatelly this is a 16mb cache drive only BUT at least, 7200rpm.

Calling this new SKU as an Elite is outrageous.
Without the HD cables and STILL no sign about a bundled wi-fi adapter (which is still QUITE overpriced), this SKU should be named Arcade Plus or something else.
What a stupid marketing strategy for Microsoft with this 'price cut'.
For new buyers, now the PS3 Slim has a way better package value overall.
Sony always stated that at the previous prices, the PS3 was a full experience and a premium console. And Microsoft replied that they supplied a base unit so players could add accessories as they wanted or needed without having to pay a lot for some features that could or couldn't be used by everyone.
So now, what's the picture?
Same prices and one of them is almost strip naked and the other one, loaded with goodies (BD, wi-fi, recharchable controls).
Now I'd like to see what would Mr. Greenberg speak about this AMAZINGLY business strategy.
This type of thing makes me embarrassed of being a 360 owner.
