Yoko Jaffe pops off about XBLA

Oct 27th 2006 1:39AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Revolution?I don't call the FACT that the vast majority of "us" are buying our games from COMPANIES and salivating over the impending releases of said games, though they're rarely more than new skins on the same old gameplay concepts coming to a machine that cost you likley more than the trouble it was worth to maintain the thing in the first place a revolution...no,no,no I mean these businesses sell you their new hardware while throwing their marketing gibberish down your throat next gen this next gen that and you call it a revolution?Lol,no this is more like business having bit into a big thing among us that of course took off when sony got into and companies that had nothing to do with games start churning out games and consoles, this is just the popularization and mass marketing of games as evidenced by games like gears of war,i swear i've never seen a more basic looking game,I can't imagine how the single player will be enjoyable pass 3 hours TOPS.You want a revolution you don't look to ppl that work for large companies that only want your video game dollar any way they can get it wether irs consumables, horse armor or lumines, you look to indie developers sure in most cases the graphics won't be comparable to to one of these so called "AAA" games but you don't play games for the visuals do you?

And trust me i'll be the last to defend that fat clown I mean I felt the ego fumes off of him the first time I saw him on g4 talking about god of war on cheat describing how "he" came up with the gameplay. But to call him a liar is biased on your own part, you ALL know Geometry Wars would've sold like crap had the 360 lauch games save for like 2 not sucked, and hes right most of these marketplace games ARE just re-releases of games that atleast SOME of could download for free on an emulator and play WITH our 360 controllers don't let the novelty of "Oh I can't wait for the ppl on my friend's list to see me play UMK3 online on my 360!" blind you, also don't let a few games that look like they were built with flash do that either.

It's not biased its just stating the obvious

NOTE:not directed at anyone person and is more food for thought.

New DOAX2 trailer pushes the limits

While I do agree that this one could've waited till AFTER the next ninja gaiden and likely a DOA update before starting work on this one but from a designer perspective it does make sense to do a game that centers on more leisure styled activity. But they need to get girlfriends thats saying a bit much about ppl you don't know.As I sadi before I enjoy the female form and if you wanna make a game with women that ALL have huge tits whats wrong with that? You wanna see a flat chested woman?GO OUTSIDE...and lastly you MUST be a petite 100lbs guy if big tits intimidate you.

As a man I have no shame in saying I enjoy the female form bouncing tits are always nice and don't confuse giving attention with an "I wanna fu*k you" mentality. But someone else pointed it out that itagaki thinks hes the greatest thing in gaming cause his simple ass fighter is online and virtua fighter still won't be.

X06: Two new Halo projects announced (w/ Peter Jackson!)

Sep 27th 2006 6:16PM (Joystiq Xbox)
While its true that I give less than a flying f**k if people consider games art,I don't really understand how its a critical step in the growth of games, this is what we do most of us have done it nearly all our lives who cares what the sheep (mass market) thinks? Those people will surely jump on the bandwagon on their own,its already happening.Of course I also don't understand the continued appeal of halo,I crave competitionin my games and not just being the first to lay my crosshair over the enemy and mindlessly pump the trigger until they die, though that invokes my point of the mass market jumping on the games band wagon on their own.

Makes you wonder how the circus some developers are trying to turn the marketplace into will take the actual nosedive after we the "users" can develop and sell our own games on the marketplace
