Probably the most disappointing bug I've encountered was a game-breaking bug in Thief: Deadly Shadows where it would crash every time I tried to enter the area I needed to get to to progress the last part of the story. Months later I finally found a solution that involved saved game transfers on memory cards or something and finally got to finish what I still consider to be one of my favorite games of all time.
