DS Daily: Down the line

Jan 14th 2007 12:34PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Why not a wide screen Gameboy that can be turned on it's side to play DS games like the new IPhone?

Silver PS2 announced for $129

This is good for low income families. Any kid would be happy to find one of these under there tree this Christmas. It is also much less expensive to buy an old system and have a huge catalog of good games to choose from. I am going to hold off buying a Wii for a year or two. That way I am guaranteed to have a big library of games to choose from for half the price. I hate paying full price for games. Especially with crap out there like Lego Star Wars 2 for the DS.

Coleco tiptoes back with Sega-filled handheld

This thing looks kinda cool. I don't know why, but I think I am going to buy one today. For some reason this excites me more then Wii or Playstation3. Lego Starwars 2 soured me on my DS lite. That game was the worst!

iPod gets $5 game downloads via iTunes

Sep 12th 2006 4:48PM (Joystiq)
I think Itunes games has the potential to be one of those things that becomes huge in a short amount of time. I wouldn't be surprised. On the opposite, It would be cool if Wii or the Playstation 3 had movie downloads. It's going to be a challenge to see who has the breakthrough way of getting downloaded movies on a regular TV.

NY Times: Game stigma is industry's fault

Aug 15th 2006 11:42AM (Joystiq)
I think there is a stigma. I am a married 30 year old Product Designer. (Currently addicted to Mario Kart DS.) The only place to buy games in Austin is Gamestop, Wal-Mart, or Target. Gamestop sucks, I have to deal with some Comic Book Store Guy every time I go in there. Then I have to give all kinds of information just to buy a game that isn't sealed! I wish someone would open a game store that feels cool when you walk in. I have been to plenty of cool toy stores and comic book stores that attract hip professionals. Why not a video game store? We have the money to spend. And there are plenty of people who would prefer to never set foot in a gamestop or game crazy.

Lucasfilm combines animation, movie and game assets

Aug 10th 2006 11:29AM (Joystiq)
Synergy? Next-generation of gaming? Anyone who has worked in a large technical corporate enviroment knows these big database software programs are nothing but a hassle. I'm sure there's going to be a bunch of forms to fill out to access the most mundane information. These things don't help creative people, they are a burden. It's a lot easier to tap your buddy on the shoulder and ask him where a certain file is. Does Oracle pay for ad space on this site? This article sounds like the sales pitch Lucasfilm probably got before they bought the software.

On improving the iPod's aging UI and experience

Hey David Chartier. This article is pointless. Won't the new video IPod blow all this out the water? It's interface is going to be awsome.

On improving the iPod's aging UI and experience

An extra shuffle button would be great. It is annoying to go all the way back in the menus to change the setting. A few more buttons that lite up like they do on the bottom of Itunes would be great (includeing a Visualizer option).
