Mar 22nd 2012 11:20AM (Joystiq)You're not seeing the full effect of the Eagle. You can't 3-star a level using it. Most are not using it to pass levels. We're using it for the extra mini-game it provides.
You see, when you activate the Eagle, it removes your star ranking, and gives you a "Complete Destruction" ranking percentage. It's a completely different game unto itself to get a 100% destruction rating on a level with the Eagle.
That's what most people are doing it for. To be able to beat the game completely, you need to beat each level with a 3-star rating (with the normal birds), and get the feather, which requires a 100% destruction rating (with the Eagle).

Mar 22nd 2012 9:37AM (Joystiq)You don't get that many of them it seems.
Also, considering I used one of my free ones on 1-1 level, destroyed the entire structure and pig with it, and still got a 97% destruction rating, not 100%, It's going to take some trial and error to 100% destruction each level of the game. Clearly you don't get enough from playing the game to do that, and it will require micro purchases.

Mar 19th 2012 4:03PM (WoW)Not sure, but I think he's making a reference to Palladium Games pen-and-paper RPGs. In their Megadamage worlds (like Rifts), 1 MDC (Mega Damage Capacity) is equal to 100 SDC (Standard Damage Capacity). Palladium's mechanic is immediately what popped into my head when I saw the headline, so I'm guessing it was in his too.
Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer kills a whole lot of humans
Aug 24th 2011 2:25PM (Joystiq)Well, it says 2179, which is the year that Aliens and A3 take place in, and specifically mentions "hadley's hope" (props for that - watched the directors cut I see. hehe).
The game talks of another dispatch of marines after contact with the Sulaco was lost, so one has to assume that the sulaco text is specifically referring to Aliens.

Aug 1st 2011 8:47AM (Joystiq)Someone buys an item from me for say $5.
Blizzard charges their credit card $5.
They transfer item from me to them.
Blizzard credits my account with $5.
Person disputes charges. (Say for example it was a stolen card)
Blizzard gets hit with a $5 chargeback.
Do they then?
A. Return the item to me and try and debit $5 out of my account.
B. Item is removed from the person, and since they already credited me $5, they just eat the chargeback.
I don't see them doing B, since it wouldn't seem to be a good business model for them. And A seems kind of screwed up in that if items start selling for a lot of money, You'd have to worry about Blizzard essentially hitting you with a chargeback when someone scams them with a stolen card of fake dispute.
