Warner Bros. acquires Batman dev Rocksteady Studios

Feb 23rd 2010 10:41AM (Joystiq)
Can't say I'm surprised by this. Only took 'em 4 months to show off a trailer for the sequel. If a company worked out a game that popular with my IP's, I'd want to keep them close as possible too.

This is what Final Fantasy XIII looks like on Xbox 360

Feb 18th 2010 11:25PM (Joystiq)
There is a difference, and it's noticeable. I'm sure everyone has already talked about the aliasing issue to death, but let's not forget that FFXIII was designed primarily on the PS3. As Joystiq already mentioned, this is the same thing that goes one with Ghostbusters. They designed it on an Xbox 360 first, and ported it to a System that while theoretically more powerful, made the game look slightly inferior. Of course, some good examples of games being fairly equal on both systems is Batman Arkham Asylum, but that game was designed for a multi-platform release. FFXIII was for all intents and purposes, designed originally as a PS3 exclusive.

You see this? Yeah... I don't think that part's making it into the game. I mean, right there, I'm close to shitting my pants. Plus, in one of the buildings, you can see graffiti, and you clearly see the word (SEX) and such.

((Look right underneath that drawing of the mickey mouse symbol on the wall.))

Arkham sells 2M, Warner gets serious about DC licensing

Sep 10th 2009 11:21AM (Joystiq)
Superhero are now officially serious business, and no, I'm not making an internet joke.

With all this news about acquisitions (Marvel) and restructuring (DC), lord knows that we're going prepare for a comic book superhero war. It probably won't be in the comics (I could be wrong though) but instead, in games, movies, and television. This Restructuring isn't a knee-jerk reaction to Marvel's news... it's a battle plan.

Back to Batman: Arkham Asylum, I assume that it played a role in this. I believe that we're going to see a lot more super-hero games, quality ones too, from both WB and Rocksteady studios. WB isn't going to let this gaming company walk away from them when they've made such a hit.

If we left it in their hands, they could probably make a decent 'Watchmen' Game as well. Or Justice League game like some have said.

Either way, this isn't the end for comic books, it's only the beginning.

Watch Japan's unsettling PS3 Slim commercials

These commercials scared me. I mean, seriously... you're marketing to people with these commercials?

Now, the Xbox 360 ads... those were great. Especially the banned one that featured everyone getting into a fake firefight at the mall.

Windows XP Mode coming to Windows 7, could be a game-changer

What about using the anytime upgrade? It's possible to add it with the upgrade to like, business or something.

Microsoft on upgrades from Windows 7 beta to RC: Please don't

Apr 9th 2009 1:52AM (Download Squad)
It's honestly worth it in my opinion. Windows 7 has proven to me that Microsoft has learned from Vista, and brought themselves a truly great Operating System. So yeah, I'll erase my hard-drive to install the RC and then the full version once it comes out simply because it's worth it. (Being truthful here, not sarcastic.)

Possible Windows 7 RC build leaked to torrent sites, screenshots surface

Yes please, go back to your silly little Linux build. Go deal with command line prompts that waste the time of normal people, and the "free" alternatives that Linux provides, which aren't really that great at all.

BumpTop: Do we really need a 3D Windows desktop?

Apr 8th 2009 1:19PM (Download Squad)
Well, if you're using a mouse it might suck a bit to use this program, even though it's cool beyond a doubt.

However, should you have a touchscreen with Windows 7, well then it gets more interesting.

Acer launches first NVIDIA Ion-based nettop: AspireRevo

I am honestly calling bullshit on this. You mean to tell me that you're able to run COD 4 with a single core processor at only 1.6 ghz?

Hell, the system requirements dictate that it needs a 2.4 Pentium 4 Processor or an AMD 64 2800+ MINIMUM to run. Now, I'm pretty damn sure that the ATOM processor at 1.6 ghz is NOT more powerful than a 2.4 Pentium 4 Processor.

So, again, while the graphics card is nice, how in the hell will that game run on a 1.6ghz processor?
