The Cheats not making the playoffs isn't justice- it's SWEET justice.

Word. To everyone's comments above. Funny guy, funny response, it's gotta be a funny flick, right?

Best marketing for a film EVER. Just send that to every movie blog everywhere Jas- er, Josh, and count the greenbacks when the film drops.

At least for the first weekend, anyway. Anything beyond that really is up to you.

TV 101: An open letter to TV executives about why you should stop worrying and learn to love PIRACY

Dec 10th 2008 12:53PM (AOL TV)
It really isn't that simple though.

Being a business owner, I know that a) apples are physical product in limited supply (relatively speaking), and b) there are costs involved in producing, shipping and selling the apple to you.

But imagine something completely different. Imagine you create the most amazing magic trick ever, involving acrobatics, juggling, pyrotechnics and sleight of hand. You've gotta get into shape, you've gotta buy the equipment and figure out how or have someone work it for you. Now, putting on your little show at the pier on weekends doesn't technically "cost" you anything, but you put a lot of work into it and you deserve to be paid for your product if people are enjoying it, regardless of how much it may cost vs what you make from it.

Now imagine people start bringing video cameras into your little show, possibly paying the cost of admission for themselves, but then they take the video (though it isn't as good as being there live) and just distribute it freely. Even if they aren't making any money from its viewing, how much money does it take from you if certain people would rather watch the video than watch you live? At least the cost of their admission, plus some intangibles like the admission from people drawn to acts with larger crowds. Stealing? No, but definitely not helping you make money from your hard work, which is what business should be about, regardless of the size or scale of the operation.

I would buy season passes for shows I really love to be able to have them on demand for the entire season, and then it wouldn't matter if I'm watching ads or supporting the companies advertising. Dollars would speak much more clearly as to the amount of people that like a program than viewership would. And it wouldn't even have to be exclusive, you could offer digital HD streams for folks who suscribe to the show commercial free (a la Netflix "Watch Instantly") and then still air the shows at their normal timeslots with traditional advertising.

For example, I would purchase (in the realm of $15 - $30 per season) Sarah Conner Chronicles, but not anything else on Fox. So even if my DVR viewership isn't factored in when deciding whether to keep the show, my actual vote will be my cash and then they have the whole show to sell me products, just traditional-commercial free.

Studio 60 might still be around, along with Swingtown. And maybe According To Jim would have been yanked long ago.

Mike Singletary Gave Mike Nolan Game Ball After 49ers' First Victory

Dec 9th 2008 4:09PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
It's good to know that although the championship legacy hasn't lived on, the 49ers are still a classy, classy organization.

If this had been oakland, the game ball would have been fired from a 64 impala through the front windows of the ex-coach's home.

Here's a Thought: Lions Should Forfeit Colts Game, Take Two Weeks to Prepare for Saints

I'm not even a Colts fan!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a Niner fan. So in a way, I feel your pain.

On the other hand, we have a chance to make history here. Don't screw this up for me.

Here's a Thought: Lions Should Forfeit Colts Game, Take Two Weeks to Prepare for Saints

Give all the Lions players the week off.

Don't game plan, for the love of God don't watch any tape, and don't practice.

Show up on Sunday at Lucas Oil refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to get spanked like a redheaded stepchild.

Mix it up a little! Get some CB's on the other side of the ball, running routes and trying to catch whatever Daunte's cookin'. Run lots of fake FG attempts, but instead of doing them on fourth, run a couple on first and second downs. Fake punts especially work really well (just ask Tom Cable).

Mainly, just remember to have some fun out there. Celebrate when Reggie Wayne finds his way to the end zone. Bonus points (and fines) for pre-planning the celebration! Dance on the 50 yard line at the end of the game, just because you can. At the halftime prep talk, blow up some balloons, down a couple of cold ones and just let it slide, baby.

0-16 was never this much fun.

Lips spreads cheer with new holiday DLC

Dec 5th 2008 1:13PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Now, I've heard of the "hole-in-the-bottom-of-the-popcorn-tub" trick while at the movies, but I can't say I've ever encountered the "hole-in-the-bottom-of-the-hot-chocolate-mug-at-the-family-get-together" trick.

Until now, that is. And I'm pretty sure it scarred me for life (no pun intended. at first.).
