Don't forget that Sony lost in the Immersion lawsuit so they couldn't use the dual shock anymore... they needed something and something quick.

If PS3 core doesn't have HDMI output, does that mean you cannot watch BD content from anyone other than Sony Studios? The only reason some many studios jumped on the bandwagon for these new technologies (blue ray and HD DVD) is because HDMI provides Content Copy protection and HDMI will be the standard for next generation media... hmm.. something to think about.

I live in boston and just got one a few weeks ago. It's really going to be evident on how well MSFT is doing in their next quarterly report.

You must keep in mind that production via a 3rd plant only happened during Feb.. Revamped shipments to all the major retailers weren't solidified until the end of Mar. So keep an eye on next quarters results.
