QuantumSphere speaks of homemade hydrogen

Mar 7th 2008 6:11PM (Engadget)
you can already do this with some salt water, a battery, two elecrodes and 2 water bottles or something to catch the gas (O2 and H2) in as it is released from the water

T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home Talk Forever: same service, lower price

You can. I have used it at my open Airport router at home and on my University's secure network (I think you need the BB to access login pages for secure wifi).

T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home Talk Forever: same service, lower price

Yes, you can make calls from any hotspot/wifi/starbucks even without the plan, it just uses up normal minutes, but gives you a much better signal coverage. This is what I was told when I signed up for it, hotspot@home package just means it wifi stops using up your normal minutes.

First benchmarks: MacBook Air is the slowest Apple machine on the block

Am I the only one who was disappointed to see my $2k MBP beaten by a $1k Macbook in everything but Open-GL? Even when the processors were the same...

Skyfire browser for Windows Mobile is game changing, does Flash

Jan 28th 2008 1:40PM (Engadget)
I believe (and this is pure guess-work) that this program is working like the PSP-PS3 browser, ie. that the browser is actually running remotely and that the Phone is more a VNC interface, otherwise I can't figure out how it could do so much, also that would explain the long privacy disclaimer. I (unfortunately) can't believe that such a browser could be built ground-up natively on the WM platform, when even Safari, Opera, Minimo haven't been able to include such functionality. Again, this is how you get Flash support on the PSP's optimized browser, so it makes since imho.

Lawsuit forces Microsoft to stay mum about Xbox Live status

Yes, exactly. Still, though, either make Live work or make Live free (like, uh, 99% of PC gaming and EVERY OTHER CONSOLE).

Sony sports, Ubisoft, Midway ban EGM from reviews

Jan 10th 2008 10:44PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I agree. I have found many titles, (Outpost, Pariah, various gba games) to be fantastic in some respects (story, atmosphere) even though they lacked in others ("traditional run-gun gameplay") so even though they got like %50's they were some of the most emotionally moving and thought provolking games I've ever played.

Then there are games like Lair, which I am about to try, which get such polarized reviews that they are basically useless without a demo. A good DEMO in the hands of gamers early combined with a forum including developer participation might solve this whole review debate. Let the games decide, let the devs hear it!

Why is this phone getting so much attention, I am still waiting for my TRUE next-gen Treo, where is Linux? Where is the next-gen Palm OS? Palm, I used to love you!

Microsoft may consider Blu-ray if consumers demand it [Update]

I think this announcement refers to future releases, or perhaps releases after a certain date?
