Anyone who thinks otherwise has never played a P.C game that has the same version on a console. A lot of the time, the developers have to dumb down the console version just because it is too hard due to a lack of mouse. The reverse also holds true, games that are console ports to PC can be rediculously easy because you can aim so much better with a mouse.

Skill in an MMORPG is not as important as skill when playing an FPS.

In an FPS, you start off exactly the same as the enemy. Who wins is determined by skill, and a little luck.

In an MMORPG, who would win in a fight is almost always determined by level and items. Sure, there is a little bit of skill in it if the people are the same level. But it can't compare with an FPS.

In an FPS if someone beats you, it is because they are more skilled than you. I like that.
I don't like it how in an MMORPG you get your ass handed to you by some guy because he went and bought the sword of a thousand truths off e-bay.

I am a Nintendo fanboy and I'm glad that guy is saying it has problems. Obviously third party developers are going to have to make an effort to get the control style down right, it is something completely new.

Who knows, it might be solved by something as simple as allowing you to change your sensitivity settings.

The reason so many people are pissed off, is because they could have chosen any name, ANY name, and they end up chosing.... this? This HORRIBLE name to describe something that we were exited about? That we were telling our friends about?

How can I honestly talk my friends into buying one now? They thought Nintendo was for kids BEFORE this. Now their next console has a name like a Fisher-Price toy.

How is it ever going to gain respect with the name it has now? Even if it is the best console ever, the NAME is going to be enough to discourage people. Why did Nintendo have to make things so difficult for themselves?

The name is BAD. It is simple. It is a horrible name. Out of the nearly infinite amount of names that could have been chosen, the marketing people at Nintendo chose this?

I am going to bash this name forever. I will NEVER get used to it. It is just not going to happen. The name is terrible.

If you want it to be about community, why didn't they name it "Unity" or something? Even that is a bit corny, but it is about a thousand times better than Wii.

The people that say stop the bashing, what is wrong with you? The name is horrid, it deserves to be bashed untill the end of time. To those people that support the name, what does it have to be called before you start hating it? The name "Wii" has no soul, it is something developed by faceless marketers to try and say something special, but fails completely. When you have to EXPLAIN the name, then it has allready failed. When you have to DEFEND the name even after explaining it, you have failed horribly.

I still think the console will be great. I think it will be awesome, based on all of the rumours about it beforehand. But the name is disgusting.

I agree. Those other names, although strange, are good. Or at least average.

"Wii" is just bad. It sounds like the slang for "Urine". It is utterly bizzare. It also reeks of someone trying to cash in on the "i" in the ipod, the graphical design is so similar.

Even if Nintendo called it the VEE it would be better. Vee is related to victory. It has the same simplistic terms but none of the negative connotations.

V would be for victory. Wii is for weak.

Seriously, did NO ONE at Nintendo Inc realise how bad a name this is? I am a Nintendo fanboy, and I am ASHAMED of this name. It is utterly horrible.
