GamerDNA's Left 4 Dead stats reveal power of Steam sales, promotions

May 18th 2009 6:05PM (Joystiq)
Yep I am a big user of Xbox Live's Deal of the Week. If it's an arcade title and I don't own it, I almost always get it when it goes on sale.

Gamer DNA: Plenty of market opportunity in MMOs [part 2]

Yes I think this is where it gets interesting. The data shows there is a hunger for Massively Multiplayer games, and folks are playing multiple subscription based as well as free and item based ones.

I think interesting part of the article for me, is that you can start to see how there is a market out there beyond WoW. That people want the massively connected worlds, in their setting and model of choice, and possibly how to reach out to these gamers.

Its only calculated on the days the play. So if they choose to play a day, the average about 5 hours. Some of the hardcore folks that run long raids, or tend to live in WoW will push that up a bit, but you would be surprised at how common long play sessions are in WoW.

Charts galore: Halo 3, Halo Wars player comparisons; other RTS titles get in mix

If the graphs don't total 100%, the remaining people could have traded it back or other.

Uno and Hexic are 100% since you can't rent it or trade it, each bar is made up of people who owned versus rent, so its giving you percentage of each pool to give you a comparison of how many chose and option versus another.

I am not sure what you mean by the what else the play graph, but each of those graphs is made up of players of that particular game. So it shows Players who tried Halo Wars (Slide 6) are more like to play Halo 3 then people who played BFME2 (Slide 3).

regardless if you liked Halo Wars ( I personally am enjoying it a lot ). The data showing is that a lot of folks are at least giving it a fair shot as a halo game. And there is an RTS fan base on the console that is trying the available options out there.

I would like to personally see more RTS games (made for the console from the ground up like Halo Wars) as well as more Halo titles that make sense in the future.

Gears of War 2: Players' gaming habits get statistical

Yep good matchmaking, and more importantly a party system make a game so much more playable. I have had great luck with Gears 2.

Yeah I really liked the campaign. Although online horde mode, is a great experience, more games need to do this. It's a great way to get a lot of people into co-op, and make it fun for a short burst or several hours.

Fun stuff, I am one of those people that didn't play Gears right up to Gear 2, but still enjoying Gears 2.

Entire August XBLA lineup dated, Castle Crashers crashes the Arcade Aug 27th

Awesome lineup, getting them all. Galaga Legions is going to be rad, if it's done as well as Pac Man C.E.
