Apr 11th 2010 4:07PM (Engadget)@HighestRanked2 Official support for Tethering was already introduced with 3.0 or 3.1, and most service providers around the world enabled it for their customers right from the start - except AT&T. Back then they said it would be "later this year", but now it's been what, 9 months?
I suppose they're afraid of the additional strain on the network, with even more data being transferred over their 3G network. I can't imagine they'd happily agree to video chat just like that.
(Although: Europe has already seen many phones with a front-facing camera, but still noone does actually use video chat. Remains to be seen if the Apple crowd makes it actually popular.)
