A VERY major point that everyone is missing it that Jimmy is BI-sexual, not gay. This is nothing more then evolution of culture. Jimmy Hawkins is still the player avatar, as in his actions are the personal choices of the player's wants and desires. Years ago, you didn't even have a choice, it was just rescue the princess. Then you started having a choice of who you actually wanted to have. Then they started having other races, so you didn't have to choose all Caucasian girls, you could have your "chocolate queen" or your "cinammon princess." So why not be bisexual, since not everyone who plays games is straight, so for years anyone who wasn't was forced to just choose some girl abitrarily and go on with the rest of the game. Guess what, now you don't have to, it's your choice, be with who you want to. I applaud Rockstar for that, and I don't even like GTA.

Nintendo created the D-Pad, the primary design for all controllers back in the 80s, and the so-"beloved" PS controller is STILL just the SNES controller with extra plastic.

Remember the UNDEFEATABLE FACT!!!! Before it was the Sony Playstation at all, it was the NINTENDO PLAYSTATION, because Nintendo came to them to build a CD add-on to the SNES. When the deal went sour (because Sony is greedy), Sony released the UNFINISHED system as a standalone and even kept the name just to flick off Nintendo. This is the true reason, Nintendo stayed away from CDs so long.


So since its very creation, the Playstation (and every version of it since) were nothing but half-assed, stolen tech, pieces of garbage. And people wonder why they break so easily. Only reason they sell, is because of Sony's marketing, THAT'S IT. Just look at how Sony's "loyal fans" act. They claim they want mature games, but act like RETARDED CHILDREN (just read this very board and you can plainly see that). I'd rather have a damn X-Box at this point, at least Microsoft is honest about being greedy bastards, and they're not sexist, RACIST, conservative, greedy, evil bastards like another company *cough*Sony*cough*. Screw that, Sony is evil, PERIOD.


For 500 bucks, it better be made of titanium this time. Oh, yeah, this is Sony, they want it to break so you have to pay more money to fix or replace it.

If I get one, I promise it won't be until at least mid-2007, AFTER the first line of screw-up models have sold and the ones that actually have some of the bugs taken out will be available.

As added statement... if gamers want to be acknowledged as been older and more mature... I don't think this is setting up for that too well..

Brats want excitement and lights and power. That's what Sony's been throwing out, while calling it "mature."

You want to be treated like an adult, STOP ACTING LIKE A CHILD! Then you wouldn't care about something like a name. If anything it should be reason to fight back, instead of whining in the corner like babies because the bullies don't like your name. This is why geeks started beating up nerds, you betrayed us!

I totally get it. And very soon the games are important. NOT THE NAME.


This entire moaning is iconic of something else. The betrayal of the 5th Generation when Sony tried pulling in average jock-cool man into the gaming world. Now it's a war between being "cool, mature, flashy and dangerous" vs "being original and innovative and doing what a game is supposed to do."

Right now, people are acting like the same thing. Do you care about what it will do, or about looking cool to the retards who couldn't care less what you like and would always sooner put you down anyway. Nintendo is being incredibly slick. Average regular people won't feel threatened by this system (I'll bet anything I'll finally get my mother to play a few games with me instead of sneaking in a play off my game and screwing me up BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T GET THE CONTROLLER). Hardcore and especially Nintendo elite aren't supposed to care about something like a name.

So the question remains... did you really only like the name "Revolution" because it stacked up with the "cool-sounding bad-ass" names that Sony threw out for flash? If that's all you really care about, then don't let the door hit you on the way out. Enjoy your $500 system and $60-70 games, since Sony only wants your money.

I will be in line getting my Nintendo Wii and I'll be damned if something like a name is going to stop me.
