I did this back in 2001 when I was working with a direct to film (i.e. paint on film) animation group called Crackpot Crafters. The only difference was that I then came up with a new process of doing it where you print onto injet temporary tattoo kits and xfer them onto prepunched film. Both have this silly grainy quality you're going for... if you like that sort of thing.

iPhone is an awful name.

Very predictable and has so much baggage associated with it in terms of an expected feature set.

As a convergence device that has telephony features, they really should have gone for a name that emphasises the holistic experience as opposed to that one feature. That way, you prepare people to approach the device with a fresh mind and you don't have to break down any stereotypes.

iPod was a good name. At first, you didn't know what the name was about, but it eventually defined itself.

My vote for a new name?

Apple i.

I suppose that I why I don't bother playing many online games--I just don't want to play games with random, generally lame people.

Well, real golf, tennis, and boxing suck. So it seems like Nintendo has reproduced them faithfully.

As for bowling, it is a rocking game, so 4/4 for nintendo. Except they probably left out the best thing about bowling alleys... vending machines with socks.

I'm sorry, but WHY does this game look promising? That was just one long derivative Manga trailer... and the gameplay in it looked quite dull. Come on, sliding tile puzzles? Is that the best they could showcase.

Now I believe they might really be able to make this game interesting by wrapping typical minigames in a new emotional packaging... but I for one am skeptical.

Still, it was pretty and all. And I liked the slowish pacing of it all. Felt a bit like Warioware waaaay slowed down I guess. But I'm still skeptical.

Ummmm... I think I can have fun with a Wii AND a PS3 AND a DS AND Xbox AND real life... Dunno what is up with you all with your video game monogamy.

I have to agree with DG a bit here, tho. Seems like N is trying to pin the Wii as a fashion accessory now (a la gameboy micro)--which kind of makes it lose value for me. I like it when good design can just speak for itself, but when you start marketing things as 'cool', it really feels like it is trying too hard.
Judging by the success of iPods, I suspect not many people agree with me. But heck, I'd like to see a nice Nintendo / MS / Sony split of the market. Noone needs to win, except for me (at Animal Crossing).
