I never bought the first one but my god, this is a game I'm pre-ordering :)

Empire City gets ripped apart in new inFamous trailer

Apr 28th 2009 8:19PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I am not sure about this game, it looks too similar to crackdown and now Sony are using the exact same marketing tool Microsoft used for crackdown. Microsoft used Halo 3 multi player beta, Sony using Uncharted 2 multi player beta. The closer we get to release the more I feel I should just get Dark Void for the ps3 instead.

Reeves: no personnel or development cutbacks due to recession

Unfortunately it will affect SCE some way, and it should in some respect make them take a closer look at how they are managing certain aspects of their business and how they can do a better job spending less money. If you want to know more of how they can do this take a look at a petition I have started on the playstation forums about this very subject and sign if you agree.

PlayStation Home already hacked?

Dec 14th 2008 8:23PM (Engadget)
Frantiesk Fuka - I was thinking the same, probably something to due to the hacked copy of home back in the closed beta. Intercept the packets coming in from the servers (not too hard considering the error handler was borked and was not parsing the messages correctly leading to people getting an error message with the url of the servers displayed). Once intercepted switch the data with your own, 876587.jpg gets replaced with your own photo renamed to 876587.jpg.
Not too sure tbh, if the hack doesn't involve physically writing data to the ps3 drive then this filtering method is most likely.

Genius idea hack into Sony's servers and upload content to your own account, they will never catch you :D

Sony cuts 8000 jobs, SCE division under review

Dec 9th 2008 4:31PM (Joystiq Playstation)
They can start with their web design employees. Its insane that they have hired different people for different divisions working on different designs for different regions. Its a waste of resources, time and money.
Its a fine example of how recreating the wheel is not a good idea for your brand or revenue.
They should have one group of web designers working on one site design. This design should be used in all regions. The only people that should be hired for specific regions are people in charge of creating content for the site and translations.
The playstation websites should be a unified experience across all regions and any new features in design should be released in all regions at the same time. This is currently impossible if there are different designs.
Been saying this for quiet some time, maybe now they will listen.

Media Molecule flickr shows in-game image importing

Nov 5th 2008 1:52PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Yeah, I think theres a big possibility they didn't include it due to the abuse that may be caused with the inclusion but at the same time as a developer I could point you to plenty of different app devs who put placeholders in the ui before actually implementing any background work. The ui for importing pictures might have been put in there with the intention of adding the feature but when it came down to time constraints and the overall disadvantages of adding the import feature I dont really blame them.
How would they be able to moderate content flowing in, make sure grotesque pictures aren't distributed to 7 year olds.Would people prefer a waiting list and fee to get their content online, thats the only way I can see it working.
maybe if the game had a higher age rating, but I think the developers decided to boot this feature in order to keep it low and available to as many as possible.

Grand Theft Auto 4 Trophy patch coming October 27th

Oct 23rd 2008 11:24PM (Joystiq Playstation)
This is great news, I stopped playing this game a small bit into it because I knew that trophies would probably not be retroactive and I didn't have time to play.
Maybe now I might finish it.

Dell's Inspiron 910 netbook limps a bit closer to release

Aug 28th 2008 6:46PM (Engadget)
That keyboard looks god awful. Why do they need an fn key and a windows key, its the same key for god sake. You would think that one of the main concerns they would have with making a netbook would be getting the keyboard right. It looks like a joke. They should just use the fn key and get rid of the windows key, especially if they are offering ubuntu on it.
