Gears 2 slides further down Xbox Live activity chart

Dec 17th 2008 1:29PM (Joystiq)
My initial reaction to gears 2 MP was it was great!! Especially horde.

Then, I noticed I was playing it less and less, because horde makes it feel like a 2 hour committment not to bolt on your 4 friends. I played gears 1 MP a lot because I could drop in and out as I pleased and it wasn't screwing anyone over. It's also always awkward not knowing how long your friends intent to play horde for. 2 hours? 30 minutes?

Then, I don't want to play the *other* MP game types because I feel I'm losing out - why play gears 1 style games when there's something new that's so much fun?

I think so much of this would have been alleviated had players been able to come and go from horde... Drop in for a while, when you've had enough, it's okay, someone will be there to replace you soon enough.

Joystiq pumpkin-carving contest - vote on the finalists!

Howdy howdy :)

I made the master chief one and don't mind sharing with you that it's not from a template. I did reference a cool image of M.C., but it's pretty hard not to make *anything* without *something* to start with, no? (It would be pretty hard to make a mario head without looking at a pic of mario).

I started with a sheet of notebook paper, designed it in such a way it could be cut without falling apart, then taped that to the pumpkin and etched it with an xacto, which pretty much destroyed my original design (I didn't copy the notebook paper first.)

Btw - In the process I did learn you have to be smarter than an xacto to properly use it. MC is mostly pre-ER visit, the flames are entirely post-ER visit...

What I want to know is -- HOW did he/she make that Mario sculpure???
