Blizzard's VP makes TIME's top 100

Apr 30th 2006 8:32PM (Joystiq)
WoW so far is the most perfect MMORPG so far in my mind. Not that it 'is' perfect because all of us WoW addicts know that Blizzard has screwed up alot! Between Realm Stability and Authentication Crashes... it is safe to say that Blizzard isn't perfect.

Never the less, they have taken the MMO World by storm and have raised the bar to a new high. They have:
- More patches and less expansions
- Celebrate holidays ingame
- Add new dungeons without releasing costly expansions
- Have a story and lore which in written in stone but still moldable if needed.
- Kept it realistic and they are able to keep the attention of their players without introducing something off the wall. (EX: That Lizard Playable Character in EQ.)

As for it's design, he deserves every bit of credit. So, lets say he stole the 'Talent' system from Diablo and that he stole the 'HotKey' bar from EQ and of course, the 'Lore' from Warcraft along with whatever he created up. It takes alot to keep these components together and running. He has done this, yes, with flaw but never the less, he has done it.

Give credit where credit is due.

E3 2006 predictions

Apr 30th 2006 8:13PM (Joystiq)
I see something comming PSP's way. Sony has been holding out on letting PSP owners 'download' games. Thus, allowing us to download games will be one of their big PSP announcements. Also, more games. This one is more of a 'wishful thinking' on my part but PSP is lacking in games. I do not see a PSP2 on their horizon. Maybe they are in the concept process of PSP2 but I highly doubt that they will show it yet if they do have one.

I do agree with everyone on Revo. I'm more of a Computer Gammer but I am actually excited about the Revo. Yes, a Revo Zelda doesn't seem plausable right now but, man, that would be awesome if they have that in the works.

Uppermost in my mind is the Blizzard Booth. They have been very secretive with their World Of Warcraft Expansion Set and the New Alliance Race. I have found myself in many battles with other WoW players trying to use lore to figure out what character it will be. This E3 is gonna be one of Blizzard's biggest events thus far and could possibly launch them further than any of their other E3s ever.

Also, another 'wishful thought' is that America's Army on PC will announce a new patch (or expansion) that creates single player and coop missions. If they go the expansion route I would imagine it not to be free, but that would still make my year.
