Dark Souls admin suggests PC could happen with a petition

Jan 8th 2012 11:03PM (Joystiq)
I've never signed a petition online before in my life. I signed this puppy. The thought of playing Dark Souls on my PC makes me a happy happy panda. The day this appears on Steam, I shall own it. And I'll probably gift a copy to my friends...and my enemies.

Farewell, Internet

Apr 13th 2011 9:46AM (Download Squad)
As a long time reader of this site, I must say I'm actually really saddened to hear that DLS is going the way of the Dodo. I can say that I've been to this website almost once a day for the last 3-4 years. This site has become part of my daily routine. I will truly miss it.

Updated: On the first day of giveaways, Turbine gave to me...

Dec 13th 2010 12:08PM (Massively)
I am having a blast playing Lord of the Rings Online. They have crafted a really fun online game around Middle Earth that allows me and my friends to explore this huge world. We enjoy just riding around looking for the awesome sights and sounds. Plus the world always feels alive, with so many players around, many of whom enjoy getting into character a little bit, makes this a really fun and rewarding experience.

Merry Christmas Turbine, Massively, and anyone else who reads this!

The Daily Grind: What's the most useless MMO skill?

Oct 6th 2010 10:40AM (Massively)
While not a skill as in modern mmo's, Asheron's Call had Thrown Weapons, a weapon skill that was useless for quite awhile because Thrown Weapons wouldn't stack, so after you threw one, you'd have to re-equip another. Absolutely useless. They added a weapon that used the skill but it basically worked like a bow with bolts in your ammo slot. I wanted to throw axes!

Civilization V Contest: Win one of two Steam codes for Digital Deluxe version

Come on Big Download...I'm stuck in a boring class with waaaay too many people to get anything accomplished, I'm tired, and I've having a terrible week...make me a happy gamer.

Joyswag: Get stuck in Limbo [update: giveaway closed]

Jul 21st 2010 1:51PM (Joystiq)
When I was like five or six years old, I remember having a bunch of stuffed animals sitting on my dresser. Well, (seriously) one Halloween night, after watching all sorts of spooky TV goodness, I woke up in the middle of the night, I woke up and looked at them, and swear to god, it looked like they all had red eyes. I didn't come out from underneath that blanket until sun up and all the animals swiftly got put into a box elsewhere.

Another story, when I was much older, I woke up and looked at my digital alarm clock...and the moment I did it, the thing started to go haywire on me, counting up quickly, turning into gibberish, back to numbers. In my half-awake state, that creeped me the hell out.

Live out your Neil Peart fantasies with Xbox Live Indie's Drum Studio

Jun 4th 2010 11:58AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Well I picked up myself a set of Rock Band drums recently for $10 brand new. So unless you know where you can get a decent real drum set for $40, this is a great way for people to play virtual drums without laying out a lot of cash. Not to mention most people who want to play this probably already have one drum controller sitting around.

And as far as the article talking about the visuals...have you looked at 90% of the rest of the Indie Games catalog? This game looks AAA compared to some on the Marketplace. I'll definately be checking this game out.

Street Fighter Legacy is the best three minutes of Street Fighter film ever

May 7th 2010 1:39AM (Joystiq)
Not too bad...although I still find the original Street Fighter movie amazingly awesome to watch with the right amount of friends and alcohol.

EA launches free-to-play 'Lord of Ultima' browser-based game

Apr 20th 2010 11:29AM (Joystiq)
@D dogg

I grew up playing the Ultima roleplaying game series, which had a great story, fun gameplay, and an interesting take on morality and virtue (especially compared to other games at the time). Fast forward some years since the last real entry in the Ultima series, and this is what fans of Ultima are rewarded with: A browser based RTS where construction time is real time, with no real feeling of it being attached to Ultima in anything but name. To me, it feels like a deeper, more complex Farmville.

I checked it out for about a half hour, 45 mins, but quickly learned it wasn't the Ultima game I've hoped for. Some people may really enjoy the game, but it's Ultima only in name for me. I guess I came off sounding like a troll, but it's just my opinion.

And yes, I"m actually downloading Exult as we speak to play Ultima 7. I never did finish Serpent's Isle back in the day and recently found my Ultima Collection disk. Might even play Ultima 8 if I can find a way to get it running on my Win XP system.
