A solar-powered Wii? Yes, a solar-powered Wii! [update 1]

Mar 20th 2007 7:06PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
well... technically it's still solar powered. the solar panel still provides the energy used to charge the battery, so even that battery power is just a temporary storage for the energy before it is used by the Wii. It may not be running purely on sunlight(because the screens/speakers/wii take up too much energy for that size solar panel), but sunlight is still the original source of energy for the entire contraption.

hey summercamp, why don't you just give it up already. you're fighting a losing battle, and it's just plain humiliating watching it from the outside. Since you probably know you're wrong (or you're just an ignorant idiot)... just stop... and for goodness sake, stop the "American" crap. You make it sound like an American raped you at some point in time...

PSA: Use the right cables for your TV [update 1]

20. I agree with you.
Oh, on a totally random note... everyone excited about how PS3 has native 1080p support, need to learn a bit about HDTVs. Very few TV's have a native resolution of 1920x1080(1080p/i resolution) most hit 1366x768 or just a bit better than 720p resolutions. So although you may tout this super hi-res gaming machine, your monitor may only be able to output a native resolution of around 720p quality.

#10... you either need a new pair of glasses or you need to wipe off that fanboy muck covering your eyes. Did you HONESTLY say that your GC hooked up over s-video looks better than your PS2 hooked up over composite? HAHAHA. the cube pushes more polygons than the ps2. It has built in support for more effects than the ps2. it may have less memory, but it more than makes up for that in processing power and raw graphical ability. checks RE4 comparison... yup

Wii launch date/price rumors abound, Brazil deets set

Your Mother. I'm sorry, but good SNES games go for a LOT of money on Ebay nowadays. and the whole design is not marketed towards kids. How is the console marketed towards kids? because NINTENDO made it? because MARIO was demoed at E3? because... you can download NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Turbogrfx games on to it? because it has a motion sensing controller? because huge crowds of people stampeded towards the Wii booth at E3? because it's not as powerful as the PS3 or 360? or is it because you can't steal cars, rob convenience stores and beat strangers up in the games?

Microsoft, Nintendo taken to court over controllers

Scott, I'm sorry if I came off as rude, I did not mean to. However, part of my argument was that Paul's company did come up with the rotating arm to load a CD. It's just that somebody happened to patent it earlier. You said "Although that rotating arm your company uses may seem obvious and "stupid" today as a device, I can assure you that at the time it was first thought of it was novel and ingenious. The problem with people's reactions to issues like this is that they don't realize that the devices and inventions we have today are taken for granted." Paul's company is not taking this "invention" for granted. They just happened to have the same idea... albiet at a later time. Which would mean that even if the person who patented the rotating arm to load CD's did not patent it, Paul's company would still have used the arm because they did not get the idea from the patent. Can you see where I'm going with this?

I agree with you on the fact that the rotating arm patent is not very broad and Paul's company is obviously using the same technique... actually, the part about it being broad was kind of just a little point that I wanted to make on the side... that really didn't have anything to do with Paul/your posts. Sorry for the confusion.
