GoW running on a PS3 ... not so much

Feb 10th 2007 10:56AM (Joystiq Xbox)
It is just good editing. You can tell exactly when the video is cut. when he says "Now into the game if you watch the screen, his PS3 loading has a faint blue hint to it. It's supposed to be Black. But then when Gears is supposedly loading up, the screen is pitch Black" meaning his XBOX hook up has a higher fidelity than the PS3 cause there's no blueish tint. AND when he goes to shut down the PS3 the Blue tint is back!

lol, the lengths people will go!

What really should be put in question is: Why when it comes to game consoles and certain toys, does the price go through the roof?

As one responder said, this is not a limited edition one of a kind run. Also, we know from history with electronics, a lot of these systems are going to malfunction. I don't understand the craze. I do understand the need to be first, but not to the point where you pay 3x retail, when it's not limited edition special.

Just my two cents.

How was the purchasers rep? I'm seeing a lot of Zero rep bidders on the 5k PS3's. Could be artificial inflation. I think the average price of these things are gonna be in the 1k - 2k range.

Gamers in trouble: G4 moves to E!

Oct 15th 2006 11:09AM (Joystiq)
Good for them BASTARDS! Why such a harsh response from DaveDaGamer? Because! I’m sick and tired of people who don’t know anything about games, or barely understand what it means to be a gamer, producing “VideoGame” shows. For the coveted “18 - 35yr old Male.” Rat Bastards. Real Gamers aren’t Geeks, Real Gamers don’t think videogames are “FUNNY, HILARIOUS, and Should be Poked Fun AT” Real game developers don’t want their blood, sweat and tears character models put in a foolish music video and dance around like fools.

You know what real gamers want? EDUCATED reviews! Done by people who actual PLAYED the game! Not some idiot who gets a script from a producer with a few notes from an Intern who sloshed through the first three levels! Oh and said idiot host tries to “Add the FUNNY” EF THAT!

Die G4 DIE!!! and take with you every other CRAP ass show about VideoGames. THE INTERNET WILL RULE!!!

Truegameheadz.com is going to step the game up. AND SHOW GAMERS WHAT THEY REALLY WANT TO SEE! All you shows had to do was ask! But did you ever think to do that? NO!!! Let’s slap some CG together and have some dumbass say something funny and call it a review….

I’m done….

No I’m not! If any of you so called “Reviewers” that are offended by this, see me at dave@truegameheadz.com and I will gladly tell you the difference between a Playstation 2 and an Xbox.

FIFA 360 deserves red card, EA gyps again

Sep 20th 2006 3:42PM (Joystiq)
I believe that it is due to the development teams. My two cents. EA already has teams dedicated to making their franchises for PS2 and XBOX and thus the robust feature set these titles have, being that they are add ons built up year after year.

To make something truly next-gen, i think they are building from the ground up. Yes some assets and sensibilities transfer over, but there's still alot of work to ensure that the title does look significantly better than it's counterparts. These aren't ports, they are truly different.

Case in point the Madden Franchise. While the current gen game is packed with features and runs at a pretty high frames per second, the 360 version has less features and tops out at 30 frames. Why? Because there is more work involved in creating a new game from the ground up and deadlines require things to be cut.

Now XBOX Live and other online (Patches) etc offer the ability to release a game and fix it later. This has gone on with the PC for eons. There's one big problem though. What about the kid that doesn't have broadband? They are stuck playing an inferior version of the game. Boo!

But i wouldn't be so quick to Bash EA, they are transistioning to the next gen. It's better than a few years ago when there WAS NO EA Sports on XBOX.

Don't forget that.

Alone in the Dark to bite TV formula

May 2nd 2006 2:44PM (Joystiq)
The key to this sort of gaming experience is the "Story Telling" if the story is set up in a way that has engaging episodes, users will like it. The downfall is that you get to play them all at once. It's sort of like catching up to the first season of Lost on DVD, you tend to watch them all at once because the story pushes you to find out what's next. So in that context it will be lost, because there's nothing preventing you from "tuning" in right now, versus "tune in next week"
