I'm surprised no one made the Republican/Democrat presidential elections ad campaign link yet.
Mac vs PC ads were simple, point out where macs are stronger and to some extent toss in a few inaccuracies about the PC, make it funny and memorable. The idea is to get people to switch to them. Mac fanboys would say otherwise, but as a user of both OSes you can't really in good faith say the Mac vs PC ads are all accurate.
This Micro$oft campaign doesn't even talk about Macs - They're only interested in talking about reconnecting with their users and hinting about the future products of M$. Whether their new OSes and products are delicious - remains to be seen. Obviously if they get people excited enough but fail to deliver people will switch anyway.
But as a counter ad campaign I thought it was brilliantly done - having said that it could go downhill from here.
This is the most useless engadget post I've ever seen. Obviously Apple is working on a 3G phone. Its only a matter of time and its obviously expected because they need to keep up. No surprise, nothing to get excited about - in fact they're already overdue - move along.
I've never really understood the whole point of this anti casual gaming viewpoint that some developers took up. If you're a into making games then shouldn't the entire idea of gaming - from boardgames to videogames be embraced?
Before modern epic videogames, the games children play are all casual games that are done in a few minutes to a couple hours. These days "short" videogames require a 8-10 hour commitment on average. Seriously how many of us can find that much time in our adult life to dedicate to gaming?
I do agree however more mature gamers will appreciate the work put into the modern videogame. But then again, most of my married friends would rather spend time with the wife and kids than getting together for a couple hours a week shooting some multiplayer maps.
Eh, obviously they meant support in some other sense - ie money. I can't say more, I'm not supposed to. In any case - how much of that 13.2 million they won in the recent suit will go into this studio :D
Haha, singapore hits the news in a negative way again. The majority of stuff reported in The Straits Times cannot be trusted, especially where numbers are concerned. The paper is a wing of the government propaganda machine. Right now, they need to eliminate videogame piracy to attract foreign companies to develop the singaporean games industry.
Its all about money here, nothing to see - move along.
14% of the market share - hardly ever any ads made for "PC" as a console. Compare that to 86% shared by Xbox360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS and so on. Granted that the movement of cash isn't the same for each console - average it out and its about the same across the board.
I play games on the PC because its convenient - I don't upgrade every 3 months, I can't. But it plays games just fine - my Wii is gathering dust next to the TV, I've not touched it for months and my other console is the PSP which I use in between class time when I'm at school. So yeah, I think PC as a gaming platform will continue dying for ages.
Someone finally pulled their head out of their behind. Good thing they unbanned it - I was starting to get requests from friends back home to ship copies of it over.
Better check your sources, no gum has been sold in singapore for over 10 years and only recently did gum sales get reapproved. But an American student did get whipped a couple of times (6 I believe) because he and his gang of equally drunk buddies pulled down and took home traffic signs.
If you've never been to SG, you might be surprised if you go for a visit. Great for a 4 day visit - not so great to live in.
Hahaha. Oh man, if the prime minister of a nation needs to address issues like this, you guys can simply imagine how hard it gets running a country like Singapore.
See what we have to put up with. :D Good thing I've been living away for the past 4 years or so.
Looks like its time for me to cash in. I could probably ship them back home and make a buck or 2 out of it.
