I have quit the game four times and come back each time because everything else has left me feeling empty. The lack of ongoing value and progress in non-mmo games makes them feel empty to me.
Over time I can build my toon into something that is optimized and has a lasting value (until the next expansion). My rank in CoD4 is entirely meaningless but my collection of weapons from years of raiding isn't and tuning the balance of my gear, gems and spec is more engaging than most other video games.
Also, I like Blizzard's boss fight mechanic design as much as the art style and overall world design. It all comes together in something that captures my imagination and compels me to come back and see it for myself.
> All specs involving shiv will be nerfed and neutered, > no exceptions. This will be short-lived.
Exactly. I agree 100% and is why the status quo won't live on. Blizz isn't going to be content with 18/51/2 being viable and will fix poison scaling (weapon speed normalization) which currently makes an ilvl 200 boe blue as valuable as Hailstorm.
> I think it would have been appropriate > to apologize for the name-calling
WRONG.
The officers were far too easy/fair with the naked raider. The gkick should have been done immediately and then they should have posted his name in the realm forum outing him as the douche bag that he is.
You give up your right to be treated with any respect when you disrespect everyone else by pulling this sort of crap.
After you get used to playing mut HfB isn't especially difficult to keep up most of the time, but when things get out of hand or you make a mistake, your dps goes down the toilet when HfB falls off. Getting back up to 3 stacks and back into your rotation takes a long time and since everything dies so fast these days you never get back up to max dps (and there's only one thing rogues do and care about, and that's max dps). So, that kind of blows.
Also, the HfB 'nervous tick' play mechanic isn't fun.
40 mans died for a good reason. People's nostalgia blinds them from former realities.
The 10-man/25-man parallel progression system is vastly superior to the old days of impersonal mega-guilds and waiting at instance entrances for an hour or more waiting for people to show up.
I would say killing Direbrew approx 50 times and never seeing a mount drop was the most disappointing part.
Blue's comment about getting a mount would be "much much easier" than a getting a Squashling turned out to be bullshit for me. Both seem to not exist, meanwhile I spent hours passing on trinkets everyone already had.
Grinding one boss for something to never drop = not fun. Seriously, it just wasn't fun and not getting a reward for doing something not fun makes me question the point of in-game holidays.
Maybe Direbrew should have dropped a Badge of Inebriation every time you killed him and you'd be able to buy a mount with 25 of those badges and 500 of the normal tickets.
I can't wait to see what fail is added into Hallow's Eve.

This class needed a full bore reaming.

Feb 18th 2009 2:01PM (WoW)I haven't seen GC say anything of the sort. He's acknowledged that rogues are below the dps level they should be in pve and are still OP in pvp.
> Rogues will be functioning nearly the same as always after 3.1
18/51/2 (shiv) says hello.
