No, the game should not be banned or taken off the Wii. That's sheer stupidity. Somewhere between parental responsibility, EB managers getting fired, and the Wii's parental controls that will effectively not play the game without a password based on its M rating, I think the helpless kiddies might have a chance at survival. Seriously though, anyone who thinks this game needs to get banned really needs to drop their lawsuits on McDonald's for making them fat, stop watching garbage reality TV shows, and get in touch with friggin' reality.
Way back in the day, the videogame industry crashed because clone after clone machine was produced, countless copies of the same games were available for all of the systems or systems that could play other system's games kept cropping up. The industry stabilized when the NES appeared with an onboard authentication chip, which coupled with Nintendo's business practices back then ensured that, for the most part, games on the system were exclusive.
So here we are, devs are trying to rely on multi-platform releases while idiots like that guy from Frontline are whining about how scared they are of making games for a system that doesn't fit into this mode of business - oh no, the games must be specific for the Wii, and that can't be profitable. Except, for some reason, Nintendo has been very profitable doing it.
Multi-platform shovelware has got to go. More exclusives need be developed - not based on how much Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo can pay you for the exclusive, but rather based on which system is best for the game in mind. EA shoveled its usual suspects onto the PS3, and now their wallets are hurting. Well... duh.
I, too, camped out for a Wii for my sister, prior to Christmas. Maryland weather seems to always take a dive when you have to line up outside for something, doesn't it?
Steve Jobs could have announced that he'd be taking a crap in a box and selling it for $600, and some idiots out there would have declared it a threat to everything from portable gaming systems to toasters.
