Hands-on: SOCOM 4 (with PlayStation Move!)

Mar 11th 2010 9:18AM (Joystiq)
Wiimote .......I mean PS3 Move players versus Dualshock controllers. Good luck with that. Oh Sony, just admit you are ripping off the Wii controllers and you would love to capture some of that market of casual gamers.

PlayStation Move sub-controller: Don't call it a Nunchuk

Wow, Sony re-invented the Wiimote and Nunchuck adding HD, wireless and camer support. Can we officially say sixaxis was a bust now.

Cryptic's predictions crushed by Star Trek Online numbers

Jan 19th 2010 12:24PM (Joystiq)
I have played the closed beta and open beta and can say they are making huge improvements with most content still locked. I am really enjoying it especially space combat with ground combat in need of some tweaking but remember it took awhile before WoW got to where it is today with alot of issues in the beginning. I have signed up for a lifetime subscription because I can see playing this for a longtime.

Star Trek Online lifetime, 12-month subscription deals

Jan 17th 2010 6:32AM (Joystiq)
People got to remember ths is the beta. I was in the closed beta and the open beta has made vast improvements since then. Also, almost all the content is still locked within huge sectors of space. WoW was not what it is today at launch and needed many years to get to what it is today and they are still changing things. I love the space combat in STO but the ground stuff is so-so for me. Personally, I have been enjoying the look and feel of being in the Star Trek universe which I feel they have done a great job capturing.

No-win scenario: Star Trek Online pre-order bonuses

Dec 8th 2009 5:28AM (Joystiq)
Upgradeable Constitution class starship is cool but there is something compelling of having the ease of downloading from Steam. I really hate it when there is a different bonuses for each chain be it for games or music.

EyePet won't see a holiday release in the US

Bet they moved it so it it can incorporate the motion wand and launch together. I know of a lot of non-gamers who were looking forward to it for xmas and they will not be happy.

Don't expect old 360 games to add Natal support

Sep 25th 2009 3:23PM (Joystiq)
Don't worry. Sony promising support for older titles for new hardware does not seem to pan out in the end. Enjoying that PS2 support on your PS3 hardware? How many PS3 games got patched with force feedback after Dual Shock 3 came out?
I want to see new games that have this tech in mind when they were being designed. Too many 1st Gen Wii games and PS3 games had motion controlled tacked on as an after thought and were poorly done.

Microsoft: Dropping HDMI cable gives Xbox 360 consumers 'flexibility'

Aug 27th 2009 1:15PM (Joystiq)
Sorry Microsoft but that is the same lame reasoning as Sony used. At least ship with the combo composite/component cable if you are dropping the HDMI. HDMi is more readily available as it is a standard plug on your unit but Component plug is not. You should have kept that check mark.

UK retailers report PS3 shipment cutoff

I do like the joke saying the slim will cost more like the PSP Go which as far as someone else stated earlier; the PSP Go costing more makes no sense. My vote is for the Slim at $399 and the price drop in remaining models to clear the system like they did last time. My wish is for a $299 Slim and I might get one otherwise still love playing games on my 360.

Rumorang: PS3 Slim to be revealed at Gamescom

Aug 12th 2009 10:18AM (Joystiq)
Better yet. Have Sony announce the PS3 Slim and have it be more expensive like they just did to the PSP/PSP Go. That would be hysterical.
Honestly, they need a price drop and $25 or $50 is not it. It needs to be $100 so it will be priced the same as what the 360 Elite will be dropping to which is $299 with the 360 Pros going away.
