Lizard-style bot 'swims' through sand, straight into your worst nightmare

@epicsurge

I prefer to think of them as giant lobsters in the sky. That way all we need is a really big pot of boiling water & some garlic butter to defeat them. And feed the galaxy at the same time.

iPhone 4: are you getting one?

Jun 7th 2010 8:37PM (Engadget)
TOTALLY!! If it were on a different network. And wasn't an Apple device. It is nice to see that this "great" design co finally, actually changes the design nature of one of their devices. Jobs has been such stickler for seamless (literally, no seams) devices it has really made their designs rather stagnant for most of a decade. Here's to the Droid Incredible I am likely to get in the next month.

Now, if we could just teach tech vlogers some basic camera work/production values these videos would be so much more watchable.

Toshiba's latest HDDs are automotive-grade, dashboard-bound

I'm all for SSD's, when ever they start approaching the $.25 per GB mark. HDD tech is still plenty robust enough for peoples needs. Not to mention size: I have over 5TB in my system, do you know how much that would cost me in SSD? We're talk'n Heidi Fleiss rates.

GameStop listing shows SanDisk's Xbox 360-branded USB drives at outrageous prices

Too bad this type of thing is overly common. Wii branded SD cards, "HD" video SD cards & the like. I can understand charging a 'premium' for a branded device, but when you can get a name brand 16GB for 1/2 - 2/3 this price, that's ridiculous.

Glad they don't. This is the stuff Gov should be worrying about: defense. & should get out of personal/private sector issues, like health care, education & business. Just because the USSR is 'gone' dose not mean the arms race is over. China is coming on-line fast & they aren't exactly boy scouts & there are still threats around the world. Besides, unlike other Gov programs, the military creates real world jobs with the production of things like jets. & then the tech funnels into other areas creating even more opportunity for job & wealth creation.

New MacBook Pro, Air and Mac Pro pricing potentially leaked by Apple ads and online store (updated)

@eli

You really don't do much comparative shopping, do you? I spec'ed your iMac for about $2,400 @ Apple. Do you realize what you can get from HP or Toshiba with that? Or what a PC builder can build with that? There are a lot of amazing monitors (25"-30") out there for well less than $1400. CNET's best reviewed monitor of the year (Dell UltraSharp U2711) can be had for under $1,000. I am really glad I didn't fall for Apple. My Macbook woke me up to how much of a rip-off they are.
