How would you change the netbook as we know it?

Sep 12th 2009 1:22AM (Engadget)
Windows 7, Windows XP is old now and should not come on any new PCs. (Plus with the changes I say Microsoft wouldn't let them put XP on netbooks anymore)

Much faster CPU, maybe like a Core 2 Duo. I wouldn't mind if my netbook were a little fatter if it had a better CPU. Its not like Atom even runs cool, my netbook idles at about 50 degrees, playing games it'll get up to 65 degrees easy, on a hard desk too, not a bed or a pillow.

2GB RAM. Windows 7 will run on 1GB fine, but Firefox+Winamp+Instant messenger+Microsoft Office adds up quick.

A built in graphics card not from Intel. 9600M or Mobility 4830 would make netbooks much more useful.

1280x800 screen, still at 10", what the hell kind of of aspect ratio is 1024x600, let's stick with 16:10.

Slot loading Blu-ray reader/DVD burner. I know it would add thickness but I couldn't care less about that.

Better speakers. Who's idea was it for them to aim down on the original Aspire One? (IDK about other models or brands)

A little TV tuner would be great too, provided we get a graphics card with HD decoding-ness for ATSC.

Oh and something all notebooks should have. A pointing stick ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointing_stick ). These are infinitely better than a touch pad will ever be, and won't take up any more space. Just wedge one in between GHB.

Ask PSP Fanboy: Volume 46

That battery you guys refer to in the question about hacking the PSP 3000 means nothing. All it does is get it so the PSP is in service mode. You still need signed software to do anything. So there is still no CFW on PSP 3000s.

Codemasters kicks up DiRT 2 for PSP too

You've named 3 games, and I said 2009 so GT Mobile doesn't count. 3 games is less than 5 fingers.

Codemasters kicks up DiRT 2 for PSP too

Awesome, that means you have to use 2 hands to count the good 2009 PSP releases instead of 1 hand.

Really disappointed with not only 3rd party support, but ffs, Sony isn't even making games for their own console.

European PSN Store releases for November 20th

2 things:
1. The US PSN store hasn't been updated for more than a month now, right?
2. SimCity 2000 PSX sucked a lot. I made it into an EBOOT and deleted it right after I tried to make my first city.

If PS3 prices get low enough I just might get one for this and as a Blu Ray player. I was always disappointed with the number of good online titles on the PSP.

Maybe he's modding other people's PSPs too.

I'd pay full price for either of the Syphon Filter games, let alone $16 and $25. Best PSP games IMO.

PSP-3000 scanlines a hardware feature; no fix planned

@ Warner Young: All of the stores that even have working PSP demo units are still just phat PSPs, so that doesn't work.

PSP2 concept is far cooler than the reality will ever be

Oct 16th 2008 6:38PM (Joystiq Playstation)
This isn't cool. It would be no fun if the screen isn't even rigid enough to support itself. The cylinder idea looks like hell on the hands too.
