Castlevania: Lords of Shadow review: Miracle whip

Oct 7th 2010 8:54AM (Joystiq)
@ennzo Good to read this. I'm a big fan of hack 'n slash and 3rd person action games. I'm picking up U2GOTY next week (I'm a slacker, I know - I got Uncharted 1 back when it was released and it remains as one of my favorite PS3 games to date but still havent played U2), but after that, it's God of Vania time!

Gran Turismo 5's weather effects and X1 Prototype in video

@Muckrak3r

It's worth noting though that the stance on GT5 was written during E3, before the weather effects were in place. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those effects (such as rain and snow) turned out to make the experience even more impressive in 3D

I think this article may help you: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/109/1099842p1.html

P.S: I read your comment and the sad replies you got, so I've been trying to dig this link for the past 15 minutes, damn college computers don't help at all ~.~

Devil May Cry reboot, in trailer and screenshot form

Sep 16th 2010 9:17AM (Joystiq)
@Spookimitsu If it were Team Ninja, I would have been with you all the way. I actually prefer Ninja Gaiden games over DMC.

Ninja Theory is still good and I still think this DMC is gonna be a good game, just... shouldn't be called DMC. Different company, different setting, different character, different weapons... Seriously just call it something else. DMC4 left a couple of loose facts to be explored, there was no need for a reboot.

@Tunguska Kazunori Yamauchi must find it a great idea!

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands gameplay footage revealed; game coming to PC in June

I liked the reboot better than SoT trilogy as well. It was more artistic and beautiful all around, the characters felt very lively (I loved the dialogues!) and the combat although repetitive offered many possibilities if only it was tweaked a little bit more. The difficulty sure could get some upping (specially during the fights - most of them I would just hit the enemy once off the edge and that was it, the bosses weren't that hard either), but I don't mind the "no death" issue, as, in the end of the day, being rescued and going back to the last checkpoint was essentially the same thing as dying.

I just loved the overall experience as much as I loved the first Uncharted (which remains as one of the best PS3 games I've played so far). It was really that good. Too bad they wasted such opportunity :/

Final Fantasy XIII Limited Collector's Edition revealed for Europe

Jan 24th 2010 6:08PM (Joystiq)
It would be nice if they brought it over to US. I usually don't mind importing (heck, I have to import when I buy from US too anyways), but since SE has hinted towards DLC for the game, this means I might not be able to get it if mine is the EU version.

Rumor: Final Fantasy XIII composer leaves Square Enix

Jan 20th 2010 9:30PM (Joystiq)
Wow, in my opinion Masashi Hamauzu was SE's biggest music talent ever since he composed the soundtrack for SaGa Frontier 2 (imo one of the best videogame soundtracks of all time). To see him leaving makes me wonder which companies will hire him to compose new soundtracks for their games. I hope many!!

Best of the Rest: Justin's Picks of 2009

hahahaha absolutely agree with laser beams! I was amazed at how BAD all these individual lists were, with the exception of Andrew's. Of course, some guys got right one or two games, but as a list they all failed (except Andrew, as noted above).
