Sony and others looking to standardize active 3D glasses

Aug 9th 2011 12:48AM (Joystiq)
Hey bluray didn't standardize like HD-DVD did....that crap still "won". Some features don't work in all players and not all can be updated because of it.

Anyway...why active? I think the active type are more likely to cause sickness/dizziness. It looks a little better, but not enough to deal with the annoyances of it making lights appear to blink on clocks, phones, the 360....

I like my TV but while glasses are necessary, I would rather stick with passive.

Commando perk removed from Modern Warfare 3

Jul 31st 2011 9:31PM (Joystiq)
That perk never bothered me. Quick Scoping does. Dual wielding overpowered super-range shotguns does.

In Black Ops you don't even have to be facing your opponent to knife them. That is far worse in my opinion. Then again...that whole game is shoot/knife swipe with reckless abandon.

Riccitiello: Focusing on 3D makes for 'poor returns'

Jul 29th 2011 12:40PM (Joystiq)
3D is cool. I've got an active 58" 3D TV. Should have held out for Passive at least. But I wanted a new TV anyway, so figured I might as well get one at a good deal.

For those of us who would use 3D, the content is lacking and beyond overpriced. For those who don't, there's not enough reason to want it.

I'm over it. I think most people were over it before it restarted.

Catherine trailer pops the question, fans answer

Engaged now but I often wonder. The more I watch marriages fail, the more it's evident that marriage is just a piece of paper with severe emotional and legal consequences upon failure. Even if your spouse commits adultry, it doesn't matter. What matters is that the one who makes more money is going to get screwed the most, and prenupts are fallible.

Last time I checked, you aren't supposed to pay someone for failure (read: alimony).

Marriage is simple: Find someone you hate and buy them a house.

Barbarian from the C64 was totally on there. Now that was a fighting game. :)

This is like the Wii remote head tracking thing minus wearing lights.

Good to see it coming along and potentially useful
