The special thanks footnote at the end should have read "all negative Windows Moblie commentary courtesy of Chris Ziegler, fanboy extraordinaire".

The (not so) stringent world of video game testing

Jul 16th 2007 2:16AM (Joystiq)
I put all the testing stations together at the VMC offices described in the Seattle weekly article a few years ago. Some prick tester there stole my hamburger out the microwave, I call him the hamburgler.

Engadget & Joystiq's live coverage of Nintendo's Wii E3 event

Did that footage of Red Steel concern anyone else? It looks like the action freezes while you aim at your enemies, and when the action resumes it shoots for you?? How weak would that be?

Playing "Ugly" Avatars

May 8th 2006 5:44PM (WoW)
I personally make my avatars as ugly/wierd/bizarre/out of place looking as possible. I want people's reaction to be "what........the...........fuck????" when they come across me. Just thinking about the look of perplexion on their face as they are walking around with their carefully thought out names and painstakingly cultivated appearances, it brings joy to my cold, black heart.

Seattle named top video game city in America

May 4th 2006 12:28PM (Joystiq)
Well it makes sense, considering Nintendo of America and Microsoft are literally a stones throw away from each other, and there are several other large dev houses such as Bungie, Valve, Zipper... in the area. The Penny Arcade dudes live here, Digipen is here, hell just call us San Francisco-lite for the amount of startups and VC cash flying around this city. It does rain more than average here, but not even close to 283 days. I see our propaganda machine is working as planned :) Seattle is somewhat of a mecca for outdoor activities (Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, etc.....), so people here spend time outdoors way more than the average American, I can guarantee it (hence the high physical fitness rating).
