Just bought one. I have been interested in this game since it was announced. Sadly, when I heard from a friend that bought it on day one that he beat it in the first day I decided to wait. Just bought it now though.

True, but for the most part, GOTY editions always have DLC included. I'm just talking the original game.

Ah gotcha, didn't realize you played on PC. I remember the days of free map packs and such when I used to play PC games exclusively. Had to quit because It was getting too expensive to keep up with PC hardware. I would love it if they made the DLC free for PC gamers, unfortunately I doubt that will happen. Not very many Publishers/Developers for most AAA games on PC these days don't include free DLC anymore from what I have seen lately. The Vietnam DLC for Bad Company 2 wasn't free and when I look at Steam there are a ton of items with DLC tags that aren't free. I'm afraid the days of every PC game having free DLC are almost over. :(

With that premium membership I'll most likely get this version. I'm in the Elite beta and it is actually surprisingly detailed. More stats than you get in-game and a lot of tips and tricks for perk/weapon combos. That's all the free stuff, but supposedly the premium stuff is supposed to get you DLC free too. I understand that it isn't cool to like CoD anymore because someone on the internet told me not to like it. But I always enjoy getting together with some friends and playing the MP.

CoD 4 didn't have free DLC that much I know. Considering that all the DLC for all the CoD games are on sale this week and none of them are free, I don't think that CoD 3 or 2 had free DLC either.

Yup, it started last sunday and ends today. I went on Sunday to pick up DJ hero 2, and just because it was $10, Tony Hawk. I also saw about 4 moms with their kids putting one of every game in their carts. I bet the one I went to was sold out by the time the store closed on Sunday.

You're right they had that awesome sale last weekend on physical copies of games on their Origin store as well. I forgot I picked up Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition for 15 bucks. which includes about $70 worth of DLC that never seems to go on sale.

So hopefully they keep the good sales coming and then I have no problem using Origin.

@Beholder87 You can actually download 2142 through Origin if you bought it on EA Downloader when it came out. I just did it a few weeks ago. It was painless. People are making way to big of a deal over this.

The first thing I thought when I read the headline was "Hmm, now I won't be able to get it in March for $5." This isn't as big a deal for me as most people since I don't have a PC that can run this and so I will be getting BF3 on 360, but I feel bad for a few of my PC gaming friends who hate having to separate their digital games libraries over various services.
