Mass Effect 3 standard edition contains reversible FemShep cover

Feb 23rd 2012 9:20PM (Joystiq)
@sigma8

I think you misunderstood my post. I'm a huge fan of the series, and have completed each game with both male and female characters.

I'm just saying that my Sheps look completely different than the "official" Bioware versions. I never see their version of the character in-game, so I don't know why they're on the cover. They may as well put characters that we all see during the game on the cover -- it's not like there's any shortage.

"more than a sterile transaction"

I understand weird corporate speak, but this is a new one on me. What the hell does that mean? I'm buying a video game, not having my appendix removed.

Sterile, not sterile... I just want the game to be available and priced well.

I don't know why they show Shepard at all. I hate the stock male Shepard, and the female one isn't much better.

There are so many characters they can put on the cover. But they insist on putting one that I'll never actually see in-game.

Just Add Water talking to publishers about Stranger's Wrath for XBLA

Just release the game as a condensed download with some data missing, and offer free DLC to add in the missing stuff.

You'd think a company called "Just Add Water" would be better at selling something from concentrate.

Zynga responds to copycat claims, NimbleBit rebuts

This guy is full of it.

Tiny Tower may have had elements in common with other games, but the mechanics are different. Dream Heights is identical in play to Tiny Tower. It's the same game, but with better-funded (and less charming) graphics.

Of course there are multiple driving games and multiple FPS games and multiple RPGs. But they distinguish themselves with new ideas and tweaks to the formula.

Zynga is an industry parasite. They aren't deriving inspiration from other games. They are flat-out cloning them.

@Acosta02

Oops -- you were talking about LA Noire.

The point stands.

Honestly. Every bit of praise for this game needs to be qualified with "for a game." If you were watching a movie and saw this kind of plot with this kind of acting, you'd demand a refund.

I'm so effing sick of hearing about Heavy Rain. If this is the future of gaming, then give me the past.

Apparently, most reviewers would put up with goofy acting, hopelessly awkward controls, and a hackneyed plot in order to save someone they love.

That's love.

SSX gameplay gets tricky in latest trailer

Boy -- I had my doubts about this after some earlier articles, but that looks like exactly what it should be.

May need to bust out the GC and play some SSX3 after seeing this...
