Feb 9th 2012 2:30AM (Joystiq)Resident Evil 4 on Android, exclusive to Korea's LG LTE market (for now)
Jan 23rd 2012 7:43AM (Joystiq)If anything, I think playing a game designed to make you fear and kill what look like normal people going about their day would be a bad idea to take with you on that train/bus commute. A lot of those folks are scary in the first place.
Super Mario Bros. Crossover gets a makeover in Version 2.0
Jan 17th 2012 3:48AM (Joystiq)I'm sure he did. We all love you for heroically lowering women's expectations!
Engadget goes hands-on with the RetroDuo Portable NES/SNES
Jan 16th 2012 2:40AM (Joystiq)That is often true, but I can attest that many old games, especially from the SNES, hold up remarkably well. Instead of designing games that the tech couldn't support, they used their limitations to set their boundaries, and got really creative within that space.
Not to sound like a retro-nut (I still love new games), but I find it refreshing to play them in between the bigger releases. This generation especially, the contrast to games that knew what they were about is downright educational.
Why Final Fantasy XIII just didn't work
Jan 13th 2012 9:08PM (Joystiq)I think you're ignoring that this is a long running, well-beloved franchise. And if, as you say, XIII has been bashed widely and repeatedly, then there is at least a good amount of people who felt it was a misstep, and don't want to see its mistakes repeated.
I think you'll hear less about it if there's a XV (or whatever) that is well received, as it would wash away a lot of the bad will. Of course, if it's bad, especially in similar ways, it could make people even angrier at XIII for being the beginning of the end.
Except for those who argue that X was the beginning of the end.
Or VII.
At least we can feel comfortable that VI is awesome. No one hates VI, right?
Buy Dr. Mario, Majora's Mask with Club Nintendo coins
Jan 12th 2012 2:42AM (Joystiq)Yeah, I would be all over this if I didn't have the Zelda Collector's disc with Majora on it for the Gamecube (and totally playable on the Wii).
But I like the pick all the same. It indicates that Nintendo is fronting really quality titles for these VC picks.
Homemade golden Nunchuk is a real treasure
Jan 11th 2012 2:51PM (Joystiq)Whoa, no trolling, really. Not even sure where anyone is getting that.
I tried to make a dumb joke about gold paint being applied to something that one uses in his hand, though it came out a lot dumber than I intended. I'm just going to point at the time stamp on my comment and beg off for being sleep-deprived.
Sorrry to have bothered anyone.
Homemade golden Nunchuk is a real treasure
Jan 11th 2012 2:15AM (Joystiq)But then I think about playing some waggle-heavy entry with my newly painted controller that forces me to swing my hands (already unfavorable on the palm to sweat ratio) like a crazy person...
At least Midas' golden palms didn't reek of paint fumes.
Zelda lexicon expands, Gerudo language translated and fontified
Jan 8th 2012 8:00PM (Joystiq)And then I hope they find a secret message, carved into the Temple of Time's archway that reads "Join the Nintendo Fun Club today!"
Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is heading to the gym
Jan 8th 2012 12:55AM (Joystiq)Completely agree. Not only do all of those interruptions happen (representing about 1/100th of the actual number of times she bothers you), but the comic is so long that reading through them all actually evokes the impatience I had whenever she popped up to say something.
Didn't make me laugh, but I might have to vote for it on principle, as a true-to-life art piece or something.
