Atlus PR reveals the Hammerin' Hero stages

Jan 11th 2009 1:40PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Leader boards and DLC? Both of these are inconsequential. Leader boards are mearly a score keeper, which is fine if you're obsessed with being "the best of the best", but for most of us that don't have the time for it, they're useless.

As for the DLC, I'd rather pay $40 for a complete game than an incomplete one.

Besides all that, it's an Atlus game. That means it's like an investment. A year from now, you'll be able to sell it on ebay for more than $40 anyways!

The problem with your solution is that by the time you get around to picking up the game you wanted, it is no longer readily available and costs twice as much on ebay.

Bob's Ultimatum

Yep, I totally agree. Release it as a download app for PC and don't be concerned about money at all - because you aren't going to make any right now.

That doesn't mean that in the future you won't, but you have to start small and build up to commercial releases. And, to own and operate your own business would be a great start. You only need one employee!

DS Daily: Last game you finished?

Dragon Quest IV - clocked in about 50 hours.

I never move on to a new game before finishing what I've started, and I never play the same genre in a row to keep things fresh!

1. Atlus
2. Square
3. Sega (for the balls to bring over Shiren)

Fanswag: Tecmo two pack

Dec 16th 2008 11:41AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I have 3 top Tecmo games.

Tokobot PSP
Ninja Gaiden xbox
Ninja Gaiden Shadow GB

but alas, Tokobot is my favorite Tecmo game, and it wins out on top of the two Ninja Gaidens I enjoyed because it was far less frustrating :)

DS Daily: Seriously? This castle? Again?

If Order of Ecclesia had been the first iteration released on DS, I'd be just fine with that. I've played them all, and they're all good games, it is just that each of them is far too similar. OoE is the first one since Aria of Sorrow to really grab me, mostly because the backtracking is far more doable now that you can simply jump from location to location with ease and not have to trudge all over the place.

DS Daily: The Order

Oct 28th 2008 11:35AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I finished the main quest this morning. I always enjoy Castlevania, but lately with the last few iterations I find myself not enjoying it as much as I used to.

Aria of Sorrow was the last one that I really really enjoyed. It really has become much of the same, even though there are some cool changes in Ecclesia. Those of us that have been playing the series since the beginning know what to expect and when to expect it.

I'd like the team to take a year or two AWAY from Castlevania and do something new, not only to give themselves a break from this tiring formula, but also a chance to possibly pursue some of their ideas that don't fit into Castlevania (and no, Castlevania Judgement is NOT what I mean by that statement)... IMO The team needs a break as much as the fans do.

DS Daily: Ys or no

Oct 27th 2008 6:15PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'd personally rather see a new Ys for DS than remakes of the first 2 games. Those of us that actually care have played these to death at some point or another. I won't be paying to play the same game yet again with updated visuals...
