Netflix on PS3 going disc-less by October
Jul 21st 2010 8:47PM (Joystiq)I think this really could put a hamper in Hulu, likely the reason they wanted to get their app out first. When it comes down to content, I don't think Hulu+ compares to Netflix. I just signed up for Hulu+ today and don't see myself keeping my subscription past the first month.
The amount of content on Hulu+ is okay, but it really pales in comparison to the amount of streaming ready content Netflix has. an unlimited streaming Netflix account costs $1 less per month, and includes an unlimited 1-at-a-time DVD rentals. Hulu+ does offer newer content (Though occasionally I have seen Netflix stream episodes of shows days after they air), but they also lack tons of older content even for the shows they feature.
Another thing that really bothers me, Hulu+ features advertising. WTF? You expect me to pay $10 a month and have advertising shoved down my throat 3-4 times per episode? If that's the case, I'l just watch TV.
I honestly don't think Hulu+ will take off like they expect, Netflix has a much better offering for a slightly cheaper price.
