Actually Nintendo instead of entering the f1 race went and created another race. Most people then went to the other race instead of the f1.

From Nintendo point of view:

We did not leave the hardcore gamer, they left us (gamecube)

If hardcore gamers were so great they would of supported us. Now we are more successful without them they come crawling back wanting us to do things there way so they can ignore us and send us back to 3rd. I don't think so.

1. Create the screen(this sets the resolution)

So if you want to render in a bigger screen you just have to intercept this call and change it.

If you are building the hardware yourself this is quite easy.
